RUSH: According to the Politico, all these Democrats running for president get no advantage from their own states. Candidates are struggling “to convince [even their] home-state voters” that they’re ready for the White House.
I’ll give you an example: Kamala Harris. She has won statewide office three times in California, and yet only 38% of California voters think she should be running for president. On the East Coast, just 37% think Cory Booker oughta be making a run — and he’s big in New Jersey as Spartacus.
Two Texas Democrats are running, Beto O’Rourke and Julian Castro. But non-Texan Joe Biden is more popular in their home state than they are.
One expert says some of these candidates, like Kamala Harris or Beto, could walk through airports in their home states and a lot of people wouldn’t even recognize them.
Well, I don’t know. It may be true. But there is an established frontrunner in the Democrat Party that most people do recognize. It’s Crazy Bernie! The aging socialist. He’s way too old to be president, but he’s got more support, more money, more name recognition, and more clout than the rest of the field. Plus, his people in Vermont love him.
But he’s being ignored! The prospect of Crazy Bernie as the Democrat nominee is driving the Democrat Machine bosses crazy! They have nothing to worry about. The guy’s too old. So is Biden. It isn’t going to happen.
