RUSH: You know, I’ve about had all I can take of leftist criminals being given a pass. I hope another one doesn’t happen today and get in the way of my program like happened yesterday with that Smollett. Greetings, my friends, and welcome. It’s great to have you. Rush Limbaugh, as always smack-dab here in the middle of the week on the EIB Network. The telephone number if you want to join us: 800-282-2882. The email address: ElRushbo@eibnet.us. So have you seen? Ahem.
You might even be able to draw an analogy or link to this Kim Foxx in the Cook County DA’s office, state’s attorney’s office with Marilyn Mosby her counterpart in where? Dadelut dadelut dadelut. Baltimore, who filed charges, lawsuits against all those cops for mistreating “that young man, Freddie Gray,” and of course in situations just the opposite of this our country is torn apart with riots and storefronts are set on fire.
We haven’t seen any of that, have we? We haven’t seen any of that in the reaction to the exoneration (now they’re claiming he wasn’t exonerated) of Jussie Smollett. I just want to point that out, folks.

RUSH: Boy, the Chicago police are livid. The Chicago police are frosted. “Chicago Police Release Files in Empire Star Jussie Smollett Case, Day After Charges Were Dramatically Dropped — Chicago police release the full 61-page investigative report in the alleged Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax, one day after charges against [Smollett] were dramatically dropped — but the move prompted a moot court order. … About an hour after the department released the files, the Chicago Police reportedly became subject of a court order that barred them from releasing further files even though they were widely available online.”
I think the Chicago police had the goods on the guy. I think they had even more. They’re saying they had more than what they had revealed to date, and they were going to use that at trial. Now they have just had the rug pulled out from under them, and they don’t know why and by who, and the mayor can’t even figure it out. Everybody in Chicago is livid and outraged at the two-tier justice system that is obviously on display here. You know what, I…? (Snort!) Nobody knows. I mean, everybody has their wild guesses.
They harbor this deep hatred for the cops, and now they’re in a position to undermine the cops. Can I draw you another analogy? I’ll draw you another analogy. How about “hands up, don’t shoot”? Look at all of the bald-faced lies and disinformation this nation has to deal with. Now, “hands up, don’t shoot,” I think, is as bogus as — and borders on great similarities with — this Mueller investigation and the so-called collusion between Trump and Russia. It didn’t happen.
It has now been officially determined it didn’t happen, and the Democrats won’t let go of it, and the cable networks, MSNBC and CNN, can’t let go of it because it’s the only reason they have an audience! And it’s “hands up, don’t shoot” all over again! “Hands up, don’t shoot.” For those of you who may not fully remember: Ferguson, Missouri, a young African-American teenager named Brown, Michael Brown. The story went that he was just walkin’ along the sidewalk one Saturday afternoon in Ferguson, Missouri, near St. Louis, thinkin’ happily about his upcoming freshman year at university.
And then a white cop drove , and saw a happy black man, and decided to murder him. In the process of this, Michael Brown — skippin’ along the sidewalk, happily thinkin’ of his freshman year at university — put his hands up and said, “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot!” and the white cop shot anyway. This narrative came to life, and it caused massive social disorder and unrest and riots and fires and other crimes throughout the St. Louis area, predominantly in Ferguson.
People from all over the country — agitators and activists — came to join the protests because (impression), “‘Hands up, don’t shoot!’ The guy was surrendering! He didn’t do anything. He was thinking about going to college. ‘Hands up, don’t shoot!'” The American people were led to believe that he was killed in cold blood. “Hands up, don’t shoot.” At an NFL game about two or three weeks later, the St. Louis Rams — still playing in St. Louis.
During player introductions right before the game, a couple of Rams players came out running on the field with their hands up, expressing solidarity with the young Michael Brown skipping along the sidewalk happily thinking of his freshman year at university. “Hands up, don’t shoot.” It didn’t happen. Russian collusion didn’t happen. Smollett staged a hoax. Ostensibly a couple of Trump supporters beat him up at 2:30 in the morning. Look at all these hoaxes.
Look at all of this fake news that Drive-By Media has come to depend on. What really happened was young Michael Brown walked into a convenience store and robbed the place while smoking some weed, and then after having robbed the place — and all this was caught on store video — then he’s walking down the middle of the street after the cops had been called about the robbery! So the cop shows up, finds Michael Brown — who’s not skippin’ along the sidewalk happily thinking about his freshman year at university.
But the Chicago cops are not putting up with this. So they’ve released some files, and now they’ve been told to the withdraw them. “An hour after the department released the files, police reportedly became subject of a court order that barred them from releasing further files, even though they were widely available online.” So the cops have been told in Chicago that they can have no role in attempting to inform the Chicago public about what actually happened, that the DA’s office and Cook County — the state’s attorney’s office — is gonna determine what happened.
Their version of what happened is the final version of what happened and we’re not gonna let anybody have any kind of contradictory version of this. We’ve dropped the charges. We’ve steeled the file. Nobody’s gonna ever know what happened. Smollett did his “community service” with the Reverend Jackson’s organization. Now I’m told there’s a split among the cast at the show Empire. Half of them thinks Smollett did it and are outraged. Half ’em them think he didn’t do it and they’re welcoming back.
The producers… That show is on the verge of being cancel canceled. The ratings fell out of the bottom of Empire in the past three months. But now producers are thinking, “You know what? You know what? We could bring the show back. We could bring Smollett back. He’s such a big item of curiosity. We could really stoke the ratings by bringing Smollett back.” So he’s on the verge of being rewarded for this, my friends. Let’s go back to the subject of hoaxes and fake news.

RUSH: Here is John in Amsterdam, New York. Greetings, sir. Great to have you with us.
CALLER: Hey, Rush. John regular Joe here. How are you?
RUSH: Fine and dandy. Thank you.
CALLER: Good, sir. I was thinking, do you think that the Smollett thing is an attempt by the left to squash the Mueller story? Do you think the two are connected?
RUSH: Well, I addressed this yesterday by only devoting the first hour of the program to Smollett, and even if it was an attempt to distract people away from the Mueller story, it wasn’t gonna work on me and didn’t. And it didn’t work on me today. So if that’s what it is, it isn’t working on me.
And it could well be — look, folks, we’re dealing with people that you and I are not like. They are through and through,100 percent of their existence is spent in battle. Every day the life that they live is a war, and every day is a battle. Every day is a skirmish. And that’s how they approach every day. It’s how they live every day. It’s how they end every day. And they probably dream about it.
So is it possible that Kim Foxx, the state’s attorney for Cook County, is in fact a Saul Alinsky disciple and a community organizer type who literally hates the cops, who is a big Black Lives Matter supporter, who thinks the cops are literally killing black people and so has a chance here to stuff it down the throat of the cops by going, “Nah-nah-nah-nah-nah” and letting a guy go just like OJ got away with it with jury nullification, this guy is getting away with it.
Is it possible that this DA or state’s attorney is simply using her power as she sought it, that this why she wanted the job? Is it possible that she saw a twofer? Is it possible that she saw how damaging this Mueller report was and that she hates Trump and despises Trump with every fiber of her body like they all do? Now, is it possible that she saw a twofer?
Now, you and I don’t live life this way. We don’t examine things this way. Every day is not a battle to us. We’re seeking a life that is not spend in battle. We just want to live the one life we all have. We want to maximize it. We want to enjoy it. We want to use the God blessed tenets of being an American. The right to life, liberty, pursuit of happiness. We do not want to spend every damn day mad at everybody else, trying to swash everybody else. But they do!
So I think it’s entirely possible that both of these things could be factors in this babe’s decision. She recused herself and still came back. We know that she is friends with Smollett’s sister. We know that the Obama chief of staff, Michelle Obama chief of staff Tina Tchen reached out to her.
It’s entirely possible. This is why these people live. This is why they seek these positions. And part and parcel of being in battle every day is destroying the enemy, which happens to be us, not ISIS, and not Al-Qaeda, and not Russia. Us. Conservatives. We are the enemy. We are who stand in the way of totalitarian control over this country and society.
So, yeah, all those things are possible. Whether they’re real, I have no way of knowing. Is this woman in Chicago that sophisticated that she could pull off a twofer? She could screw the Chicago PD, she could tell them to go to hell in a handbasket and us at the same time by trying to take the Mueller story off the front page. Entirely possible. And if she is not capable of thinking that way, believe me the Democrat Party has plenty of people who are who could counsel her.
This is what we’re up against. This is why I am always hell-bent to try to get as many people as possible to immediately recognize a liberal when they see one and to understand what that means.
