RUSH: Let’s go to Carl. Carl is in the Leona Valley, California. Hi, Carl. Great to have you with us, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Oh! Thank you for putting me on, Rush.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: Good late afternoon. I know you’re down to your last few minutes, and that’s just about the topic I have. Hey, speaking for millions of listeners, I gotta tell you: It makes my day five days a week to enjoy your three-hour show. The only thing I found that was better was two years when you were on for Four Hours. You unloaded some extra baggage that you had to get out, and I would like you to consider doing that more often, maybe a couple of times a month. Because you talk about piled-up stuff that you can’t get to at the end of many days, you take sometimes scheduled or unscheduled days after. It would work really well for both sides of the microphone if you could give us that Fourth Hour.

RUSH: Well, I appreciate your input on that, and you’re right. There are days that I can’t possibly get to everything, and I have shuffled it off to a Fourth Hour. What the Fourth Hour is for subscribers at RushLimbaugh.com. It’s made exclusively over the internet. It’s not on the air it’s over the internet and there are no commercials and I just keep going until I’ve run through everything I want to talk about and it ends. It can go 10 minutes; it could go an hour. It just depends. There’s no set format or boundary to it. I appreciate your desire to hear more of it. I probably should.

I mean, certainly the material or the amount of content here warrants it. So I will endeavor, and we’ve been thinking of other things that we can also do on the website as value-added propositions, and that’s just one of the things that we are considering. There’s nothing specific yet, just that a lot of websites are starting to offer things, and I’ve been offered… (chuckles) I’ve been offered positions on some of these websites, and I always say, “Do you not know I have my own? Why would I take what I’m doing here to yours and help build yours when, essentially, I’m competing with you?”

“Oh, you do? Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t know.”

“Well, it might help you to learn.”

But the point is that it is becoming even more competitive. So I’d be a fool to commit to this, even on a day-to-day basis. But it is something that we’re constantly thinking about. If it were as easy as me saying, like right now, “I’m gonna do a Fourth Hour,” it would happen a lot more often. But the tech people need days in advance to be able to set things up. But I can’t decide.

I do everything spontaneously, and this is the one thing that since it is a spontaneous decision causes people to panic. “Oh, my God! Oh! Oh!” I oftentimes don’t decide an hour earlier that I want to do one. So if we could fix — you know, streamline — some of that, it would be a little bit easier to do. But there have to be… The dials and the potentiometers and the knobs and all that have to be adjusted for bandwidth and so forth.

It’s not just as simple as me saying, “Hey, I’m doing a Fourth Hour. Get ready.”

“Oh, God, could you give us more lead time?”

“How much do you need?”

“Like a week.”

“Sorry, can’t give you that much.”

Seriously, I appreciate the request. It flatters me.
