RUSH: Palm Bay, Florida. This is Keith. I’m glad you waited, sir. Hi.
CALLER: Hey, thank you for all the enlightenment you’ve done over the years, and I hope many, many more to go, Rush.
RUSH: I’m flattered to know that it’s worthwhile, that you notice. I appreciate that.
CALLER: You know, first they’re trying to recalculate the deaths after storms, you know, that they’ve done the same way for a hundred years. Now on CNBC this morning, Joe and Becky and the progressive socialist ex-New York Times reporter, Andrew Ross Sorkin.
RUSH: Yeah, yeah.
CALLER: Apparently he’s at a conference of all his elite buddies and they’re trying to discuss how to change, how to calculate economic numbers because President Trump has had such a success, record breaking. And they were talking about the GDP being projected to be over 3% for the next two years. They claim that they want to add to that also that it’s being unfairly redistributed down to the poor. They want to change these numbers just to make President Trump look bad.
RUSH: Right.
CALLER: And, you know, I have a great success story. I might be the first person President Trump put to work. Election night 2:40 in the morning I wrote on Facebook I was a gun-toting, Bible-thumping, uneducated redneck deplorable before it was cool. Erased it 10 minutes later and had shirts three weeks later, and now for the last year and 10 months, I’m up to 31 shirts selling on the East Coast gun shows. And I hope you can stop in if you’re in town. West Palm’s the next one, the 13th and 14th. I’d love to give you a deplorable shirt.
RUSH: Well, that’s very thoughtful. I appreciate that. Revising numbers, you know, when Obama was president, GDP was puttering along, dripping along at 1.2%. They revised how it’s calculated to elevate it, started including things in it that have never been included. I’m not surprised to hear this.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: A couple of years ago the Drive-By Media all nodded in agreement when Obama said the new normal was 2% GDP growth. Get used to it because the old days of 4% growth were never gonna happen again. Now we got 4% growth and poor little Obama’s whining that he should be getting the credit for it when he told us never to expect anything like this.
