RUSH: Okay. Back to the phones we go, to Barb in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Great to have you on the program. Hi.
CALLER: Thank you, Rush. And I am so glad I got through today. I am calling to humbly apologize to you. I called you back in late 2015, and I was Scott Walker for president, and I really yelled at you for supporting Trump. And let me just say you were right; I was wrong. I still love Scott Walker, he’s the best governor ever, but who else but Donald Trump could take on the left-wing kooks that are out there the way he does? He is my man. I love him.
CALLER: I didn’t think he could win. I remember I told you, I said, “Rush, he can’t win. He’s too, you know, wild, and he’s undisciplined.”
RUSH: Right. The language. He’s out there —
CALLER: He’s exactly what we needed. Exactly.
RUSH: Saying I don’t respect generals and lieutenants that get caught in war.
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: Yeah, that kind of stuff.
CALLER: Right. And I’ve gotta tell you, election night at our house was just great. That is a celebration we’ll never forget. I felt bad because Trump is better than I ever thought, you know —
RUSH: Good for you. Look, you don’t need to apologize. I appreciate it. I understand why people objected to Trump. I just had this gut extinct that for the people that were gonna vote for him, that stuff is beyond mattering, given the crisis nature that we faced after eight years of Obama. And, anyway, well, I’m glad you’re still out there, and I’m glad you called. Thank you much.
