RUSH: It could be the most amusing race to watch this election cycle. Actress Cynthia Nixon from Sex And The City is taking on New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. It’s a case of Lefty versus Leftier.

At her first campaign stop in Brooklyn, she unleashed on Cuomo, who we call here affectionately the son of Mario the Pious.

The New York Times says that she questioned whether Cuomo is a real Democrat. She said that Cuomo is beholden to corporate donors. She linked him to the corruption of New York politics. She hit him for presiding over a state divided into haves and have-nots, in her words, “the single most unequal state in the country.”

After likening Cuomo to President Trump for slashing taxes on corporations and the super-rich, Cynthia Nixon outlined her three-point platform. She is gonna fix the “very segregated” New York school system; she is gonna solve “inequality”; and she is gonna make the subway trains run on time.

A Cuomo surrogate hit back. Former city councilwoman Christine Quinn called Cynthia Nixon an “unqualified lesbian.” After a firestorm, Quinn apologized, said she’s just a lesbian.

Ms. Nixon did pick up a heavyweight endorsement though. Rosie O’Donnell is all-in, and that’s gotta count for something. Whenever Rosie sits in on something it’s big.

But think about this. Will Governor Cuomo’s brother Fredo interview Ms. Nixon on CNN? Maybe even betray the family and support her?

Like I said. This is going to be fun to watch.
