Caller: My Kids Have Dreams Too

by Rush Limbaugh - Jan 9,2018

RUSH: John in Chicago, great to have you, sir.  What’s happening?  What’s up?

CALLER:  Rush, great honor to speak with you.  I’m 31 years old here in Chicago, a Rush Baby all my life, recently married. So it’s a great honor to speak with you today.

RUSH:  Thank you, sir, very much.

CALLER:  I just wanted to call — and I hope you’re right on your assessment of this meeting with Trump. But I’ve been on the Trump train since fall 2015.  I was in the first car in the first seat.  I’ve been fighting with friends and family on behalf of this president, and I’ve been proud of him up until… Well, not… If it doesn’t work out, I he’s gonna lose me, because if this deal doesn’t have an end of chain migration, an end to the lottery system, and funding for a wall — or what they’ve already passed with the fencing along the border. They already passed that bill. Just funding for that! He’s gonna lose me.  I’ve been with him the whole time fighting tooth and nail.  I even contributed to his campaign.

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  He’s gonna lose me.

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  So I really hope that you’re right on this assessment, sir.

RUSH: Well, let me let you in on something here, John. So do I. He-he-he-he. I hope I’m right, but I have been thinking about it more and more, and I really think that immigration was the foil. I think the purpose of this meeting was not immigration. I think the meeting transpired in such a way — he threw it all back on them. They don’t know what he wants. He said, “I’ll sign whatever you bring me,” but then the Republicans immediately started demanding specifics. “What do you want?” And he didn’t answer it, and he didn’t answer for the Democrats.

He said (paraphrasing), “We could do that, yeah, we could do that, yeah, I might want to do that, yeah, of course we could.” He mentioned nothing specific. But he did say, “I’ll sign whatever you send me.” I think what’s gonna happen is they’re not gonna be able to come to a deal in the Congress. The Republicans and the Democrats are not gonna agree on anything and therefore nothing’s gonna be sent to Trump unless he gets involved and makes it happen.

And I think he’s setting up that by proving that the Wolff book is a bunch of caca. The president with this little televised ditty today demonstrated to one and all that he can run a meeting, that he can be in charge of it, that he knows what he’s doing and that when he says he’s doing X, Y, and Z you can trust that he’s competent to be doing it. Because the Wolff book is not a standalone. Everybody in the Drive-By Media is now out there saying, “See? See? 25th Amendment. This guy’s unfit. A hundred percent of the people that work with him say he’s a moron, he doesn’t know what he’s doing.”

All of that had to be swept away. I’m convinced that’s what they decided today, and that’s why they did this. So after doing this, there’s a whole new picture of Trump that’s out there. Whether the media, you know, uses it to replace the Wolff book is another matter; we’ll have to see. But still, the record, it was televised live and CNN was televising it. I mean, even they’ve got some commentators on record now saying how great it was. Trump demonstrated he is in charge here, John.

CALLER: Well, from your lips to Donald Trump’s ears. And as long as he’s got Stephen Miller by his side, I’m gonna go with him on the plan, because I trust Trump —

RUSH: Okay.

CALLER: — I trust Stephen Miller, and I trust Tom Cotton. And if they’re there, I’m going with the plan.

RUSH: Well, okay, if that’s the case, if Stephen Miller doesn’t know show up for work one day or resigns, then maybe you should get concerned.

CALLER: (laughing) Yes.

RUSH: Right.

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: But that’s my take on this. There’s a part of me that is just ticked off they have to do this to refute this stupid book, because it makes it appear defensive to me, but I still understand the need for doing it. They can say at the end of the day, “Well, we didn’t commit to anything on immigration.” But he did. He committed to signing whatever they send him.

CALLER: And that’s what makes me nervous.

RUSH: The Democrats, I guarantee you, the Democrats are not gonna put anything together that he wants. They’re just not. I mean, we’ve got the memo. The Democrats are doing all this to acquire future voters. That’s all this is to them. Anyway, John, I’m long. I gotta take a break. I’m glad you called. I hope you sleep easier tonight.
