RUSH: Oh, yes, Robert Lee. You know what? That’s fascinating. I saw this, whatever day it was, I saw it the first day it happened. I was appalled. Now, I’m out in Hawaii, I will not name the island. It’s a golf trip. And, of course, everything out there is six hours behind, so it’s just 20 minutes after 8 in the morning out there right now.
I said, “Yeah, he was gonna do some, you know, off brand, football game telecast on ESPN. They moved him to another game because it’s so recent in the aftermath of Charlottesville that ESPN said they didn’t want to torture the people in the audience who might not be able to handle it.” And they looked at me and they went on talking about what they were talking about. Then the next day they saw it for themselves and started laughing. I said, “Do you guys not remember me telling you this?”
“Yeah, but, you know, you’re creative and clever, you could have been making it up.” I said, no! And then they talked about it for the next two or three days like it was the most outrageous thing they had ever seen. But when I first told them — this was very instructive for me, by the way. When I first told them about it, hardly any reaction, and when I first heard about it, stopped me dead in my tracks. I said, “What the hell is this?”
And then it all made sense, ESPN, it’s liberalism, it made perfect sense. Then when I found out the guy, Robert Lee, went along with it, I said it’s bad. This is really bad. This is ingrained so bad. I laughed at it some, but to me, phew, I now consider it an honor to have been asked to resign by those people.
