RUSH: Here’s Craig in southern Ontario. Welcome, sir. Great to have you with us.
CALLER: Great to be here. Thanks, Rush.
RUSH: You bet, sir.
CALLER: I wonder if you’ve had this same notion. I see this hunt for Russian collusion ending only one of two possible ways: A, they find some kind of collusion. (I find it farfetched.) B, in the absence of evidence, they’re gonna sit and have panel after panel for months talking about, “How is it possible that they were able to eliminate and expunge and disappear all of this information?”
RUSH: You’ve got it! You’ve nailed it. In the first place, the whole premise is absurd. What are we talking about? We’re talking about the ongoing effort to convince the American people that Hillary should have won. That’s what they’re trying to do here.
RUSH: That Hillary should have won; the election was stolen from her because of connections that Trump had with Putin. That means that the Russians somehow were able to rig the election in favor of Trump. That is not possible. There is no evidence for it. And that specifically has not even been alleged. They are leaving it up to people to conclude that is what they’re talking about. They’re using the power of suggestion. They might find a phone call or two. They won’t find any evidence that our election was anything other than a hundred percent legitimate.
CALLER: Well, I think I’ve heard them already setting this up. I heard a little, tiny sound bite, and I don’t remember if it was Barbara Boxer or Pelosi or one of the other members of the brain trust. But they said, “Well, absence of evidence is no indication that a crime wasn’t committed.” And then I went, “Ohhhh, here we go. We’re gonna have to listen to this for months after… If it ever closes, we’ll have to listen to it for months or years.
RUSH: If they find any evidence, it’s gonna be of… (sigh) There isn’t any. They’ve been looking for a year. There isn’t any. I don’t even want to discuss if they’re gonna find —
CALLER: I don’t either.
RUSH: If they find some, I’m not gonna believe it. I’m gonna tell you right now, I’m not gonna believe it. If they don’t find some, the other side’s gonna say they don’t believe it, and the media, not the Democrats, are gonna — as you say — impanel endless roundtables on TV to discuss how the once-great Bob Mueller ended up being corrupted by Donald Trump. That’ll be number one. Number two: “How did they miss it? With all the leaks to the Post and the Times, how did they miss it?” They’re not gonna accept this, and it won’t matter. The media is gonna continue the premise that Trump cheated, that Hillary should be the president, no matter what happens with this investigation. That’s why I think it’s a waste of time.
