When Congressional Democrats staged their latest fundraiser — the sit-in on the House floor — they sang the civil rights anthem “We Shall Overcome.” When they ended the sit-in, they sang it again to the Drive-By cameras. But nobody asked them what are they trying to “overcome”?

In the 1960s, when the Democrat Party enforced decades old Jim Crow laws, it was clear what had to be overcome. America acted. We overcame state-sponsored segregation, put in place by Democrats. Our civil rights laws were expanded to include equal opportunity in housing, voting, education, jobs, public accommodations, and much more.

So what were the Democrats supposedly trying to “overcome” last week? The Constitution. They tried to force through a measure that would have stripped Second Amendment rights, without due process, from people whose names were on a government list.

Here are some other things Democrats are trying to “overcome.” They want to “overcome” immigration laws, to continue to shelter illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities, at taxpayer expense. They want to “overcome” efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, so they can continue to abort and harvest body parts from the unborn.
