Abysmal Ratings for Obama SOTU

RUSH: The State of the Union address, my instincts right on the money, lowest ratings in 15 years. It was an absolute, total ratings bomb. And I didn’t want to watch it, my instincts right on the money. But does this say the country is becoming more racist, Mr. Snerdley? You have an African-American president, lowest State of the Union show ratings in I don’t know how long. Could we chalk that up to a racist viewing public? Make no mistake, some might allude to it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Ken in Livonia, Michigan. Hello, sir. Great to have you on the program.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, thanks for taking my call. Earlier you mentioned that the State of the Union address that President Obama had given had fewer viewers than in the past, and I just wanted to address why I believe that to be the case. The reason why I didn’t watch it, the reason I believe millions of others didn’t watch it, is because unfortunately President Obama has proven through his entire presidency that he never speaks the truth. He never gives the facts when he opens his mouth. I mean, we can remember, Rush, his famous statements that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.

RUSH: That’s exactly right. That’s exactly right on the money, 100% right.

CALLER: And even now with global warming, or climate change, he promotes climate change as a fact when we know it’s a fraud, not forget what we learned out of England when all that information was made available on the Internet. It’s sad, Rush, but there again, we have a president that lies. He lies and lies and lies. He never tells the truth.

RUSH: I think that’s definitely part of it. I would agree with you a hundred percent on that. The actual truth is, this is the second lowest rated State of the Union since Nielsen started rating them. The absolute lowest was Bill Clinton’s in 2000, and then this is the second lowest. I think you’re absolutely right. Nobody’s interested. They’re not gonna hear the truth. They’re just pontificating. I think you’re exactly right. There’s just not a high degree of trust. And clearly now, folks, this is another fascinating thing to me. There’s no excitement. There’s no eager anticipation. There’s no, “Man, this our president, Obama!” No, none of that, it’s all gone. It’s just a ho-hummer now.
