RUSH: This is Lee in Peoria, Arizona, and you’re next, sir. Great to have you on the Rush Limbaugh program. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush.

RUSH: Hey.

CALLER: I appreciate all your comments, and I appreciate the job you’ve been doing the last 25 or so years.

RUSH: Thank you very much.

CALLER: In light of what Mr. Gruber said about how stupid he thinks we are, I wonder if ex-Speaker Pelosi must have thought that the entire Democrat Party was stupid because she lied to them as well. And in light of the election results and the fact that the Democrat Party doesn’t have much leadership, isn’t there even one Democrat representative that has enough courage or integrity who’s willing to stand up to the lame duck — or lame quack president about this law?

RUSH: Well, maybe. I don’t know about Obamacare, but I think Joe Manchin of West Virginia might switch parties. He’s giving off some indications. But you mentioned Pelosi. There’s a story on Pelosi in The Politico today in which she says, “‘I do not believe what happened the other night is a wave. There was no wave of approval for the Republicans.

“‘I wish them congratulations, they won the election, but there was no wave of approval for anybody. There was an ebbing, an ebb tide, for us.’ … Pelosi said sheÂ’s needed now more than ever. … From plans to harness her power among fellow Democrats to keep her job as minority leader, to digging in on Obamacare and the partyÂ’s economic messaging, Pelosi is setting up her party to fight to take back the House in 2016…”

She said, “‘Quite frankly, if we would have won, I would have thought about leaving,’ [and] Pelosi said sheÂ’s needed now more than ever.” So (translated): “We get shellacked, I’ve been totally rejected; that means I’ve gotta stay. If we had won, and been resoundingly approved and welcomed, I’d have probably quit.” That’s how brilliant this woman is! There’s not a Democrat that’s gonna stand up, Lee.

Those days are gone, the days where… What you’re talking about is, “Is there not an adult anywhere in this party that’s gonna stand up and…?” No. Even among those who’ve been vanquished, even among those who’ve been defeated, no way. It’s not your dad’s Democrat Party, anymore. It’s certainly not your grandfather’s Democrat Party, anymore. This Democrat Party has undergone a dramatic radical shift.

I don’t even think calling it the Democrat Party is descriptive enough.

It’s too confusing. The Democrat Party used to stand for things that a lot of people, good or bad, really believed in. Today’s Democrat Party doesn’t stand for anything that’s uplifting or inspiring. It’s just… I think this party has transformed so much and has become so radicalized that it’s confusing to call ’em Democrats, because that doesn’t quite state what they’ve become and who they really are anymore.
