RUSH: This is Maddie in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Nice to have you with us. Great to have you. Hi.
CALLER: Hi, Mr. Limbaugh.
RUSH: Hi.
CALLER: I was recently grounded for three weeks and my dad told me that if I read a book and wrote a book report on it, I could get a week taken off. So I read your book, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. I loved it. The first chapter I was just trying to get through it, but I absolutely fell in love with the book.
RUSH: Wow. I have to ask, Maddie, and you don’t have to answer this, but I think everybody wants to know, what did you do to get grounded?
CALLER: My brother and I were home alone and we were supposed to do a list of things, and we just watched TV all day.
RUSH: And that got you grounded.
CALLER: Yep.
RUSH: Well, I hope you learned your lesson. But look how it worked out. You had to read a book and write a book report, and you ended up stumbling across my book, and you ended up liking it. I couldn’t be happier. I mean, the greatest thing for me is you got grounded.
CALLER: Yep. Best grounding ever, so far.
RUSH: How long did it take you to read it?
CALLER: Three days.
RUSH: Three days. Have you read the second one yet?
CALLER: I started it this morning.
RUSH: Ah. See, I was gonna send it. You know what, I want to send you an autographed copy of Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. You know what, I’m gonna send you both. I’m gonna send you an autographed copy of both just so you can have ’em.
CALLER: That would be great.
RUSH: And I’m gonna throw the audio version in, too. I read the audio version unabridged, but I’d like to do that. So hang on. When we finish here Mr. Snerdley will get your name and address so we can send it out to you.
CALLER: Okay. Thank you so much.
RUSH: You’re welcome. I don’t know how to express my appreciation when young people like you call and tell me how much you like the book. You made my day. I just want you to know you made my day and I can’t thank you enough. I really appreciate it. I’ve never done anything like this before. It’s really cool. So don’t hang up now, Maddie.
