RUSH: “What? Oh, yeah. You know, we’re still number one at Amazon.com on pre-orders for Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans. I don’t know what to say. I really don’t know what to say. Number one in pre-orders! (interruption) What do you mean, “Number one and number two”?
Well, the audio book was at number two. I think it slipped down to five or some such thing, but that’s okay because on October 29th when the book comes out, the audio book… You know, we posted a little video of a behind-the-scenes. It’s 39 seconds. I posted it at Facebook. It’s just a video of me doing a short portion of it, and this is something I’d not done. I had not ever read professionally for something like this.
It’s an interpretive reading of a story with dialogue, with different vocal inflections and accents and so forth — and it was, thus, a challenge. Folks, I gotta be honest. At my age, and with my degree of professionalism and the heights that I’ve achieved, there aren’t too many challenges left in this business for me. I mean, I’ve conquered everything I’ve done — TV, all that. But I had never done this, so I was jazzed. It was fun. It was really strange.
I had three nights to do this and when I finished, I was puffed-out proud. I was really giving myself attaboys because I felt this was really good. I’m used to that on this show. You know, when I walk outta here at the end of the radio show every day, I think how could I have done better, what could I fix tomorrow, this kind of thing. But when I finished this thing, it was like, “Wow, all right,” ’cause I hadn’t done it before. It was exciting. It’s good. People are gonna like that.
The audio version slipped to number five. But, as I said, I’m not worried about that ’cause it’s gonna be number one once it hits. But the pre-order list includes books that are on sale, and you never know what to expect with something like this. (interruption) What? (interruption) No way. No way. Snerdley just asked me, “Well, you don’t think you’re gonna sell two million?” I said, “I don’t know. That’s the point.” He said, “Well, your first two did.” Yeah, but it was a totally different market back then.
There weren’t any real conservative manifesto books, and I was the only conservative national media figure at the time. It was almost like I had a monopoly back then. Now it’s a whole different market. I have no idea. That’s why I’m so pleasantly surprised, and proud. I can’t tell you. Kathryn is, too. Yeah. It’s October 29th. “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans.”
We’ve brought to life me as Rush Revere, the cute little icon on the Two If By Tea bottle.
Hee-hee-hee.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Is it seven days or is it eight days? Seven days we’ve been number one, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. Is it seven or eight days we’re at number one right now? When did we announce this, last Tuesday? It’s eight days. It’s eight days at number one in the pre-orders for my next book, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.
This is unbelievable. Thank you again, folks. It’s a humbling experience. (interruption) Awwww, Snerdley! A lot of people have seen the cover, Snerdley, ’cause they’ve gone to our website. They’ve gone to the Two If By Tea website. They’ve gone to Amazon and ordered it. So a lot of people have seen the cover. (interruption)
All right, I’ll show the cover on the Dittocam here in just a minute.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Okay, my friends, here it is once again. There you have it. If you’re watching on the Dittocam, there it is. There is the cover of the upcoming best-seller written by me: Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans. Snerdley says that I’m not showing the cover enough. So there it is. (interruption) Well, okay, but if I move it up, people won’t see me. All right, there it is. There the whole thing is. There is the cover of the book.
That is Rush Revere, official icon of TwoIfByTea.com.
(interruption)
It is. It really is cool, and we’re number one in the pre-orders at Amazon for, they say, a week now. It’s seven days, but it was a week ago yesterday that we made the announcement. So I’m gonna turn the Dittocam off now since I’m too zeroed in. Rush Revere the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans. The book is to teach what isn’t being taught to kids in a really fun, truthful — and dare I say, patriotic — way. I’m very proud of this, folks. Again, I’m overwhelmed with all our gratitude for all of you.
