Who Really Wants to Watch This?

by Rush Limbaugh - Feb 12,2013

RUSH: No, no, just depressed. I really am, and I probably shouldn’t admit this. I mean, as the last surviving pope, I ought not even admit that, but I gotta be honest with you. Does anybody want to watch this tonight? Does anybody really want to watch? You know what this is gonna be tonight? This is gonna be the Misstatement of the Union. It’s not the State of the Union. It’s the Misstatement of the Union. And you know what we’re gonna see? It’s an absurd sight, folks, to sit there and watch our government stand and applaud itself as it’s ruining our economy.

They’re gonna sit there and applaud themselves all night long, and for what? Ruining the country, bringing the private sector to its knees, exploding the deficit, Obamacare, bye-bye freedom here, bye-bye freedom there. And we’re gonna have all kinds of guests sitting up there next to Michelle Obama. I’m depressed because the Apple CEO is gonna be there. I know. I know. You don’t have to tell me. I know why the Apple CEO, I’ll guarantee you — well, I can’t guarantee you, but my wild guess is that the Apple CEO has been invited to sit next to Moochelle or to sit close to her because Apple has announced that they’re gonna start building a product in America this year. So Obama can point to that and talk about how he is bringing jobs back to America, while jobs are being destroyed.

But I know what’s gonna be said before it’s said, and it’s gonna be galling. It’s not so much what we’re gonna hear, because we know that. It’s the sight. It’s the optics of these guys standing and applauding themselves, our government applauding itself while it’s in the midst of wreaking havoc.

Now, Drudge just posted a story. You know, more and more people are starting to speak out very softly and not all that frequently, but it’s starting to happen. This is an ABC News story: “Fort Hood Hero Says Obama ‘Betrayed’ Her, Other Victims — Soldiers denied Purple Heart, other benefits after military classifies shooting as workplace violence.

“Three years after the White House arranged a hero’s welcome at the State of the Union address for the Fort Hood police sergeant and her partner who stopped the deadly shooting there, Kimberly Munley says President Obama broke the promise he made to her that the victims would be well taken care of. ‘Betrayed is a good word,’ former Sgt. Munley told ABC News in a tearful interview to be broadcast tonight on World News with Diane Sawyer and Nightline. ‘Not to the least little bit have the victims been taken care of,’ she said. ‘In fact they’ve been neglected.’ There was no immediate comment from the White House about Munley’s allegations.”
