Military Mom to Democrats: Have You No Shame?

by Rush Limbaugh - Oct 11,2012

RUSH: Here’s Teresa in Goshen, Kentucky, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Rush, it’s a pleasure to be on the radio with you. I’m a 23-year listener. In fact, my husband and I, retired military, celebrate our anniversary at the same time as you celebrate your anniversary. So we’re proud to know you.

RUSH: Well, thank you very much.

CALLER: (chuckles) In fact, I had two sons and a son-in-law in the military. They retired. And what really got to me as I think about my 15-year-old daughter that I’m going to go pick up from school. She’s 15, and I think about this mom here, Pat Smith, saying (choking up), “I had him 17 years and turned him over to you.” And that really got me because I just want to know which one of the Democrats is going to stand up, come out outside the party, and say, “You know what? This is wrong. This will not do.”

Which one will have the decency, the integrity, and will tell us the truth and go against the party line? Which one, Rush? When is it going to happen? This party — and I’m not a Democrat. This party is dying because of lack of integrity and decency and the crassness that this president showed when (crying) those coffins arrived here and went to their homeland that same day while he attended a campaign party that evening, or that very next day. Has he no decency? We’ve got military that are fighting with one arm behind their back.

RUSH: Teresa, you’ve misinterpreted Obama. He gave a eulogy next to the caskets and he looked like he really cared, and he called the ambassador by his first name. They were close buddies. “Chris died. You know, Chris died doing what he wanted to do. Chris was in the Peace Corps and all.” I’m sure Obama thought after that that nobody coulda done any better. Nobody coulda shown more compassion. Nobody coulda shown more empathy.

“Okay, mission accomplished! Now I’ll head to Vegas, and then to Jay-Z’s, and then when I finish I’m gonna go see Letterman.” All the while, Obama’s telling himself everybody loves him; that nobody can’t. (impression) “You know, Harry, I have a gift! Nobody could do better than I do at these eulogy things. Nobody!” I know. We have to listen to Obama and Michelle talk to us all the time how much they love the military. But I agree with you.

When Pat Smith said, “I had him for 17 years and I turned him over to you,” that’s exactly how it’s looked at, isn’t it? I mean, the American government is considered to be trustworthy and we believe that every step necessary to protect uniformed military personnel in combat is taken. That’s the assumption. Knowing full well that things go wrong, but that’s the assumption. But you don’t expect to be lied to over and over again, particularly when everybody knows it’s a lie. So I understand how it hit you. It hit me the same way.

CALLER: I just don’t understand. I mean, her voice and the way that she said that, it meant so much. It really spoke to me. Like I said, I have a 15-year-old daughter and two kids that have retired from the military. I don’t understand how they could be so crass and unfeeling.

RUSH: They don’t think they are. They think they are the most feeling and the most compassionate and the most empathetic. By the way, the Democrats left the hearing yesterday after just a couple hours. The House Government Reform Oversight Committee. They left. They didn’t want to hear the truth. They didn’t want to have to be there when the truth was being told. They didn’t want their faces on TV when the truth was being told. They wanted no part of it. You’re right in questioning what happened to this party. What has become of it? There are answers. I appreciate the call, Teresa. Thanks much.

Scott in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Hi, great to have you on the EIB Network.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Proud to talk to you. I’m someone who’s done a little bit of everything. I’m a former journalist, and I’m disgusted by the way that journalism has turned out. I’m a former teacher who was strong-armed into joining the union — and I’m embarrassed about that — and now I’m a small business owner. But what really bothers me about everything that’s going on right now in the media: When are we going to start talking about the fact that an American citizen who exercised his First Amendment rights was awakened in the middle of the night and arrested so that this administration could carry on with their tale that it was a video that caused all of this disgrace, destruction, and death?

RUSH: About that: I’m looking to see if I kept it. I didn’t. There is a story today, Scott, and I forget what newspaper. It might be the Los Angeles Times, but I’m not sure. There is a story about the filmmaker, still in jail, and what a creep he is. I don’t know about bread and water, but they’ve got him in jail. They talk about what a fraud he is, a parole violator for bank fraud. It’s a story that exists for the express purpose of justifying the fact that this guy was rousted out of his house at 1:30 in the morning and jailed, with no bail, because of this video. This is just today. Just today, since you bring it up.

There’s no outrage over this.

The media has a story talking about how justifiable the action was to put this guy away.
