A World Without Rush on the Radio?

by Rush Limbaugh - Dec 21,2011

RUSH: Josephine in Vernon, New Jersey. Hi, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush, for taking my call. It’s such a pleasure. I’ve listened to you for 20 years plus, our whole family and our grandchildren, and because of you we homeschool our children.

RUSH: Wow.

CALLER: But that’s not what I’m calling about. But anyway, I called you last month on my anniversary, our 43rd anniversary and you just made my day. I’m the lady that we have no cable and we have no Internet but we read a lot and you’re our schoolroom. But, anyway, I heard the other day you and Snerdley talking about you going back and forth and he said, “What, what?” You said, “What, what?” And he said, “What would the country be like without Rush on the radio?” Well, you know, I got up 2:30 last night in the morning in a cold sweat thinking about Rush not being on the radio. I almost had a heart attack. I came downstairs and I wrote a note, and I said, “I gotta call Rush today. I can’t let the year go without speaking with Rush on this.” But anyway, I was thinking it would be boring, we’ll be uninformed. It would be like a Third World country. We lose the best member of our family.

And I gotta tell you, you’re like a Paul Revere. You’re a voice crying in the wilderness. You’re thorough, articulate, you have the brass to say what everybody else is thinking, but they’re afraid to say it. You have a great, easy speaking voice. You challenge us to think about current events. We, therefore, go out and we challenge others. I’m always telling everybody about you and your thoughts. You love our country, Rush. And you keep us informed. And you’re just a harmless and lovable little fuzzball. And we want you to stay on the radio. That other guy that called the other day and said he wanted you on TV, think about it. Don’t think about it. Stay on the radio. You can reach so many more people that way.

RUSH: Yeah, I can’t thank you enough. You put some thought into this before making your call, and I don’t know what there is to argue with here, folks, I really don’t. You know what I’m thinking as you go through this, my not being on the radio, picture the mourning in North Korea and multiply that times 20.

CALLER: Oh. I can’t imagine.

RUSH: You got people crying in the street, pounding the pavement in North Korea because Kim Jong-dead is dead. Imagine what it would be like if I were no longer on the radio here.

CALLER: I can’t. I can’t. So we just want to thank you. Stay on the radio.

RUSH: You’re very sweet. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, seriously, I really do.

CALLER: And we’re so happy that you’re married to Kathryn because we worried about you for a while. We said, “He needs a nice mate,” so we’re so happy about that.

RUSH: So am I, by the way. (laughing) So am I. And some days so is she.

CALLER: You’re a harmless, lovable little fuzzball. I love you when you say it.

RUSH: Harmless, lovable little fuzzball. Well, I appreciate that. Thank you, Josephine, very much, and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year to you as well.

CALLER: Yes, thank you.

RUSH: Josephine!

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: You still there?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Is the TV still off?

CALLER: Yeah, we have a physical old TV. We never, you know, converted over to it. But because we’re listening to you so much we’re saving up to get a — ’cause we’re retired now, we’re saving up to get an Internet connection —

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: — and to get Internet. We just don’t know which one to get so we’re a little confused. So we want to do our homework and we have a little envelope we’re putting money in it to save for a —

RUSH: Well, I’ll tell you what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna send you a computer so that when you are ready to connect to the Internet you have a computer to use for it.

CALLER: Oh, my goodness.

RUSH: What good is being connected to the Internet if you don’t have a computer?

CALLER: (laughing) That’s true.

RUSH: And of course the computer could cost you a little bit more than your Internet connection, depending on what outfit you decide to go with. So, look, you stay on hold, I’m gonna send you a 17-inch MacBook Pro.

CALLER: Oh, no.

RUSH: And it’s got Wi-Fi, so if you get a wireless —

CALLER: Oh, God bless you.

RUSH: Well, I know.

CALLER: You’re just such a wonderful, caring and giving person.

RUSH: I love sharing my passions with people, I just do. And I love this stuff, it keeps me invigorated and active and learning things, and I just love sharing the things I love with people so I’m happy to do this, Josephine. You sit tight, don’t go anywhere so we can find out where to send this to you. We use FedEx so you have to be there when it shows up. I appreciate your call
