RUSH: Ralph Nader, this is Monday in an interview with the Rocky Mountain News newspaper.
NADER: There’s only one thing different about Barack Obama when it comes to being a Democratic presidential candidate: He’s half African-American. Whether that will make any difference, I don’t know. I haven’t heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos, payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What’s keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white, he doesn’t want to appear like Jesse Jackson?
RUSH: I don’t know about you, but I am offended. He’s talking white? They’re worried about some sort of hidden videotape with his wife saying whitey, and here’s Ralph Nader, a big — what is talking white? Somebody explain that to me. What is talking white? I am fed up of being attacked like this, because of the way I talk. Talking white, does talking white mean I don’t care about lead poisoning? Does talking white mean that I don’t care about what goes on in the ghettos? I don’t care about payday loans or predatory lending or asbestos? What is talking white? I know I don’t got no slave blood. Well, who knows, Snerdley, I haven’t put my blood under the microscope like you did yours, and then, what is this, half African-American? Here Ralph Nader, he’s half African-American, he’s talking white. Where are the Justice Brothers when you need ’em?
Time is tight here folks. I think we can squeeze it in, Chillicothe, Ohio, this is Tom. Nice to have you on the program, sir.
CALLER: Hey mega dittos, Rush, from Ohio’s first capital.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: I want to know what we ought to do to counteract the Obama-Clinton dream team.
RUSH: (laughing) There’s nothing dreamy about that.
CALLER: Well, you know he’s going to name her.
RUSH: No, I don’t know that he’s going to name her.
CALLER: He’s out in Hollywood raising money from his buddies now to help her pay off her debt.
RUSH: Pay off her vendor debt.
CALLER: Yeah, her election debts.
RUSH: No. Like the hotel bills and the air charters, this is not the campaign donations she loaned herself. This is strictly the caterers, the hotel bills, and it doesn’t matter, it’s about $10 million.
CALLER: But why would he be doing that if he’s not going to name her?
RUSH: I think it was part of the deal to get her the hell out of the way.
CALLER: Okay.
RUSH: She did not have to quit. She coulda kept this up all the way through the convention. She did not have to quit. There’s no question this deal was done long ago.
CALLER: But don’t you think there may be a deal in there to name her veep?
RUSH: He might name her the veep. I don’t know who he’s going to name. See, every time I have that possibility raised, that Obama, as you say, would nominate Hillary, Obama would be a fool to have Bill Clinton that close to things. Just a fool. And whoever is running, Obama does not want the Clintons anywhere near them. I will be shocked if he picked her. It’s possible, but I will be shocked.
