RUSH: It’s amazing. They are so on the run. You realize, my friends, that the partisan political operative media from Eugene Robinson in the Washington Post to Maureen Dowd are begging George W. Bush to get involved in the mosque issue to save Obama. I’m not kidding. They want Bush ’cause he’s got credibility on this. They want Bush to bring out the megaphone again and come 
out in support of the mosque to bail Obama out. I’m watching MessNBC today and they got all these experts on there saying, ‘The Republican Party better not overreach on the mosque business.’ And then Pelosi, right out of Joe Stalin’s playbook, ‘Investigate the funding of the people who oppose the mosque.’ What we need to start funding is an investigation of Pelosi to get her out of the House of Representatives. This is unreal. Let’s investigate the 9/11 families. Let’s do that. Right on, that’s exactly what we should do, and let’s investigate the Tea Party. They are so on the run. They are so drunk with power they do not realize the damage that they are causing themselves. They really don’t.
‘Bad (Generic) News for the Dems — It’s not just Rasmussen. It’s Gallup too. The Republicans are WAY ahead in the generic congressional poll. Fifty percent of the public says they’re going to vote for Republicans in November, a seven point lead over Democrats.’ But, but they could blow it with the mosque. I’m making that up. The partisan political operatives in the media say, ‘they could blow it, they could blow this if they overplay the mosque.’ A former RNC chairman, I don’t know who, is warning Republicans not to overplay this, don’t overplay the mosque business. Who’s overplaying it? Folks, this is delightful. In fact, let’s investigate voters who want to vote for Republicans, have Pelosi get in on that now. I mean there’s obviously something criminal about that so let’s investigate people who plan on voting for Republicans.

And here’s the Politico: ‘Mosque Debate Strains Tea Party, GOP.’ The Politico is once again running a fantasy as a news story. Remember how they all were having a conniption, having a cow out there when a candidate Obama endorsed actually won? It was historic, never before had happened, and of course it put to rest the notion that the Democrats were dead, incumbents are not dead. You know, it really is the Twilight Zone. The Tea Party is not even weighing in on the mosque. The Tea Party’s worrying about other things, like jobs and the economy and Obama’s single-handed destruction of it. Imam Hussein Obama mmm, mmm, mmm. I want to be fair, too. He probably is the best anti-American president the country’s ever had. So I don’t want to be misinterpreted here as just a knee-jerk critic. Ed Gillespie is the former RNC chairman saying that we should downplay the mosque, don’t overplay it here.
Now, Pelosi, I’m sure she agrees with Bloomberg, we could never question where the mosque building money is coming from, oh, no, no, we’re not supposed to investigate that. Where’s the money to build the mosque coming from? No, no, no. We’re not supposed to look into that. We’re not supposed to find out it might be from Sharia Muslims in Saudi Arabia. Hm-hm. No. We have to investigate the people who are opposing the mosque and funding. Sixty-eight percent of the county oppose putting the mosque at Ground Zero. Here is Pelosi on KCBS Radio out in San Francisco, after an event to transfer control of Treasure Island from the Navy to the City of San Francisco. You’ve been to San Francisco, Snerdley, you know Treasure Island? They’re gonna build what they call an ecotopia. Do you know what an ecotopia is? Well, it’s an ecologically perfect utopia, ecologically perfect utopia. So it’s going to have light rail and who knows, a lot of solar panels and windmills and stuff, whatever they think is cool.
So she had this question. ‘Senator Reid came out against the mosque breaking with the president.’ Of course, Obama’s excusing Reid for being intolerant. Obama is excusing Reid’s intolerance. He understands that Reid has to be intolerant just like Clinton told us that Robert Byrd had to join the Klan to get elected, Reid has to oppose the mosque in order to get elected, so in that case intolerance is not just understood, it’s encouraged. So that was the question. Here’s Pelosi’s answer.
PELOSI: There is no question that there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some, and I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded? How is this being ginned up?
RUSH: I join those who have called for looking into how the opposition to the mosque is being funded? How is this being ginned up? This is a woman that first called tea partiers Nazis, and now she wants to investigate the funding. She doesn’t care who’s paying for the mosque. She cares who’s funding the opposition. Ladies and gentlemen, this is soft tyranny. We laugh at this, but this is tyranny. And too many people on our side want to play footsie with these people, to get into the debating of the nuance of all of this. But you and I, the people understand far better the danger we face, the danger posed by Obama and Pelosi, the Democrat Party and the left. We oppose the kind of society this is becoming. This is a society that is being produced, shaped, and formed against the will of the American people. The American people are way ahead of the ruling class, of both parties in Washington. This is not nuance. This is not footsie. Pelosi is serious. She does want to investigate whoever is funding.
By the way, I have opposed the mosque being built there. Nobody’s paying me to do it. I don’t know that there is any organized funding. Does everything have to result from funding? Does Pelosi not understand that there are substantive ideas that are behind the opposition to the mosque being built at Ground Zero? (interruption) No, I’m not the leader. They’re looking for a villain. Apparently making me the villain hasn’t worked. They’re looking for a new villain. They’re thinking of reviving Newt Gingrich’s let Medicare wither away on the vine, they’re thinking of going back all the way to 1994. I’m not kidding. It’s in the stack. It’s all coming up here. The Speaker of the House should be forced out of office for what she said here. We got people playing footsie saying, ‘Well, the Republicans better not overstep, the Republicans better not overstep.’ The speaker of the House has just suggested investigating American citizens who oppose a mosque going up at Ground Zero, 63, 68% of the country, including most of the 9/11 families. And that’s who the Democrat Party sees as the problem here and that’s who they want to investigate?
We got people on our side saying, ‘We gotta be very, very careful here, we don’t want to overstep on this, could really hurt us in November.’ Who’s saying this? The Democrat ruling class people and the media are saying it, and typically people on our side in the ruling class in the Beltway, ‘Oh, yeah, they’re right, we don’t want to make them mad.’ The left, you know, they like to hold Joe McCarthy out as some kind of unbalanced commie hunter. Look at Pelosi. Look at her massive ego, her massive power grabbing, the way she runs the House, her statements about investigating those she disagrees with. She is McCarthy, she is Watergate, and all the rest of it combined. The only voices who will object to Pelosi are ours, conservative voices. They’re not going to find anybody in the Republican Party hierarchy upset with this. No, it’s just Pelosi being Pelosi they’ll say. It’s just usual inside-the-Beltway stuff. That’s just Pelosi being Pelosi, that’s just Reid being Reid, oh, that’s no big deal, that’s just the Democrats being who they are.
You let some Republican, say a Speaker of the House, start talking about investigating people who are funding certain leftist causes and you see what happens. This is a tipping point. Is Pelosi gonna investigate Harry Reid? Harry Reid’s opposed to the mosque. Now, granted, he’s been given special dispensation on this. But is Pelosi gonna investigate Reid? And it looks like dissent isn’t patriotic anymore, is it? It looks like what Hillary said about dissent and opposing the administration, that was the new patriotism back during the first and second terms of George W. Bush. But, now, no, no, no, no. Even Chris Christie’s getting on this bandwagon, (paraphrasing) ‘We don’t want to overplay our hand here, this could go a little bit wrong. We gotta be very, very, very, very careful. Others are warning us not to shout about this, don’t go out and say what you really want to say.’ I’m sorry. These are not the people who tell me what to say and what not to say. They have never been, and they’re not going to start being now.
Notice that the Muslims’ right to freedom of religion trumps our freedom of speech. We’re being told to shut up ’cause it might hurt Republicans in November. We’re being told to tiptoe, be very, very, very, very careful here. Well, they can cower all they want in retirement. I’m going to continue to do and say what I think is right, because, folks, there are millions of Democrats, and there are millions of independents and others who are on the correct side of this mosque business, and buying into the Democrat template, that this is about politics, this stuff, is dead wrong. This is not politics as usual.

For all their talk about ‘outreach,’ it would seem that the Ground Zero mosque builders are not at all interested in hearing the views of others. The imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, doesn’t appear to be very interested in peace or healing or any so-called interfaith dialogue — which is the purpose, he says, of the mosque. He seems to be only interested in provocative, insensitive, aggressive acts that will end up glorifying Muslim aggression at the expense of the 3,000 people who died on 9/11. (interruption)
No, Snerdley, I’m serious. This guy, the imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, won’t condemn Hamas. You think I’d get in trouble if I called this the ‘Hamasque’ and not just a mosque? I probably would get in trouble. I’d probably have some people saying, ‘Oh, no! No! Oh, Limbaugh is really overstepping now. Oh, no, Limbaugh is dooming our chances in November. How could he do this by calling it the Hamasque?’ But the imam won’t condemn Hamas. He’s chummy with terrorists. Governor Christie and others say this we are ‘painting peaceful Muslims with a broad brush’ of the terrorists. I think it’s just the opposite. What we’re doing here is painting terrorist Muslims with the broad brush of peaceful ones. That’s the objective here. (interruption)
Well, Snerdley, they say that we’re ‘painting peaceful Muslims with the broad brush of the terrorists,’ and that’s why we should be very careful. We shouldn’t do that. In other words, we are saying that all of these people are terrorists — and we’re not. What this is gonna end up doing is painting terrorist Muslims with the broad brush of peaceful ones, and that’s the objective. I don’t know why people don’t see this. The whole point here of building this mosque there is to paint terrorist Muslims a different color, to take the terrorist out of terrorist Muslims — and we’re told not to overstep. We’re told, ‘You know, rein it in. Don’t go crazy here. Gotta be really, really, really careful.’ If a bunch of Christians that backed the Branch Davidians wanted to build a church anywhere, would they be tripping all over themselves to wrap them in the peaceful legacy of Billy Graham and Mother Teresa and the Martin Luther Kings and so forth?
No. The loudest single voice against the mosque in New York is the Anti-Defamation League, the ADL. Is Pelosi suggesting that we investigate the Jewish money behind the ADL? She wants to investigate the ‘funding’ of those who oppose the mosque. The single loudest voice against it in New York is the ADL, and they’re not exactly a conservative group. Does Pelosi think we need to investigate Abe Foxman and where he’s getting his money? All this talk of ‘outreach.’ Remember, now, folks, the purpose here, we’re told, is outreach, interfaith dialogue. Who is it that’s trying to shut people up? Who is it doesn’t want any interfaith dialogue? No town halls on this. Who’s out there trying to impugn and intimidate the people who oppose this rather than have dialogue with them?
Mayor Bloomberg had no problem jumping to conclusions about the Times Square bomber. Remember who he was? He was just somebody ‘probably ticked off at Obama’s health care plan.’ That was the knee-jerk reaction of the mayor of New York. It’s just some ticked-off reactionary didn’t like Obama. Turns out, no. It was a Muslim terrorist inspired by other Muslim terrorists. He said, ‘If I had to guess, 25 cents, this would be exactly that: Homegrown, maybe a mentally deranged person, somebody with a political agenda, doesn’t like the health care bill or something. Could be anything,’ but it certainly could not be what it was, and now mosque supporters are begging George W. Bush to come to Obama’s rescue. ”It’s time for W. to weigh in,’ writes the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd. Bush, Dowd explains, understands that ‘you can’t have an effective war against the terrorists if it is a war on Islam.’ Dowd finds it ‘odd’ that Obama seems less sure on that matter.’ She wants Bush to ‘get his bullhorn back out’ and bail Obama out of this one. I’m not making this up.

RUSH: I asked where Hillary is. I don’t know where she is, but I’ll tell you what she’s doing. The State Department is funding the Ground Zero mosque’s imam’s tour of the Middle East. Remember the regime has made the imam of the Ground Zero mosque an envoy, an emissary of the regimes to the Middle East. And Mrs. Clinton is paying for it. She is funding his fundraising tour. They say that he is an envoy representing the regime in the Middle East. But what Imam Feisal is doing is fundraising for his mosque. You would think that Hillary would take an interest in Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s activities about the mosque as well as his past statements condemning the US and praising Hamas, which is why I have referred periodically today to this as the Hamasque. And don’t forget that Hamas has come out and endorsed Obama’s statement on the Hamasque at Ground Zero.
Now, do you remember when word got out that I wanted to buy part of the St. Louis Rams, the wacko left, the wacko sportswriter left, the whole left went nuts. They made up things I have never said, they took other things I have said out of context. They complained that I was a horrible racist; that I was insensitive toward black athletes, despite the fact I wanted to join an organization that makes them millionaires. But the imam from the Hamasque gets a pass on his actual 9/11 comments that we in effect created Bin Laden. And I don’t hear Al Sharpton with his bullhorn and I don’t hear the Reverend Jackson — and, by the way, for you people, a friend of mine makes a brilliant observation. You people in Nevada, when Imam Obama grants Harry Reid special dispensation to be intolerant — well, I mean they say opposing the mosque is intolerant, and Dingy Harry has come out in opposition to the mosque, and Obama, ‘That’s okay, it’s okay,’ ’cause Dingy Harry has to get elected. You people in Nevada, the implication is very clear. You are bigots. You are bigots and you are racial zealots, and Harry Reid has to pander to your bigotry in order to get elected. And they tell us to shut up. They tell us that we are the ones close to talking ourselves over the cliff.
This is political genius. Obama has just essentially said to the people of Nevada, by granting Dingy Harry dispensation for his opposition to the mosque, that you people in Nevada are bigots and racial bigots and all that because you’re gonna vote for whoever is opposed to the mosque. (laughing) It is political genius, is it not, to position the incumbent Senate majority leader as having to pander to bigots in order to win? Let’s keep a sharp eye. The last poll I saw Sharron Angle and Dingy Harry were tied at 47. Let’s see what happens now that the president of the United States has implied that Nevadans are racial bigots. Oh, by the way, this is the New York Daily News: ‘Ailing 9/11 responders slammed President Obama yesterday for sounding off on the Ground Zero mosque while staying silent on $7.2 billion health care bill for them.’ They are sick. Obama doesn’t care. Pelosi wants them investigated. 9/11 first responders oppose the mosque. Pelosi wants to investigate those who oppose it for their funding, and they’re telling us that we better be careful what we say?

RUSH: A lot of people said I was making it up that Obama said he was okay with Harry Reid’s intolerance. I’m not making it up. It’s right here in The Politico. In Seattle: ‘President Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) have agreed to disagree on a Muslim group’s controversial plans to build an Islamic community center and mosque a couple of blocks from ground zero in lower Manhattan. White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters Tuesday, ‘Senator Reid is a fiercely independent individual. It’s one of his strengths as a leader of the Democratic Party. So the president feels completely fine that [they] might disagree.”
Harry just has a different take on the issue, Burton said. We’re all bigots. We all have to shut up. But Harry Reid’s intolerance is being excused, a special dispensation from Obama. I guess Obama’s homophobia about gay marriage we’re supposed to just think that’s okay, too. Well, Obama opposes gay marriage. Anybody else who opposes gay marriage is a homophobe. But, of course, Obama isn’t a homophobe.
‘Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s stance against the ‘Ground Zero Mosque’ has drawn fire from some members of Southern Nevada’s Muslim community. The iman of Masjid As-Fabur mosque, Minister Fateen, said this morning in a press release, ‘I would like Mr. Reid to tell my members how he arrived at his decision and what facts did he base it on?” Mr. Imam, it’s none of your business. Imam Obama has given him dispensation. Harry just has a different take on this. You’re not supposed to question it. If it doesn’t bother Imam Obama, then it shouldn’t bother you.
‘Reid is scheduled to have a ‘meet and greet’ with the African American Faith Community at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Culinary Training Center, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Minister Fateen added, ‘We hope that Friday is a defining moment. It’s time we take a stand and tell the world what the Muslim religion is about and it has nothing to relation to 911.’ A member of the Black Muslims, Minister X, stated –‘ this is the Las Vegas Review-Journal — ‘It is not all right for a politician to make a comment because it’s his and not ours. Now he is representing himself not the people who voted him into office.’
‘In the same press release, Fateen included Reid’s well-traveled ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one’ remark from the book Game Change. Reid later apologized for what he called ‘such a poor choice of words.’ It sounds like that meet and greet will be an interesting place to be,’ because the Imam Fateen not happy with Dingy Harry’s light-skinned African-American with no Negro dialect unless he wants to have one remark. But you guys, you guys, need to back off here because Obama has given him special dispensation.
From the LA Times: ‘New York Mosque Debate Splits GOP.’ Hmm. ‘Some Republicans fear the issue will be a distraction as elections near and that it will undercut the party’s efforts to broaden its base.’ Yeah, right. That’s what they always say. Whatever we do is going to hurt our efforts at broadening our base. Meanwhile, it’s the other guys who have basically set themselves on fire here. They lit the match, they poured gasoline on themselves, and they’re burning up out there. And we’re told we have to shut up, that we’re harming ourselves.
