RUSH: ‘Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin this week will begin accepting and rejecting the more than 1,070 invitations she has received for paid speeches and political appearances since she resigned from office, aides said. Twenty speakers’ bureaus made offers to represent her. … More than 950 requests for speeches have poured in for Palin, and over 120 candidates for office have asked her to appear, including folks running for Senate, House and state Legislature, aides said.’ It was just yesterday, Page Six in the New York Post ran a story from an unidentified source who said that nobody wants her. She’s a blithering idiot. People are afraid to book her. She can’t get request to do a speech. They’re asking a hundred grand for speeches she can’t get one invitation. There’s a story last night from the mainstream media. Not even the mainstream media was buying it, since you don’t get a $7 million advance from a liberal publishing company if nobody wants you.
And then the latest news: ‘A publishing industry source [said] that they ‘cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented.” ‘Two days after the release date of Sarah Palin’s book was announced, it’s already become the top seller at both Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com,’ and it hasn’t even gone to press yet, or maybe it’s at press now. ‘Palin’s publisher announced Monday that the former governor of Alaska and Republican vice presidential candidate had finished her memoir, ‘Going Rogue: An American Life,’ early and was moving the release date up from the spring to November 17. A Palin source told POLITICO that she ‘is very grateful’ for the strong early sales.
”This book has taken off like a rocket,’ the source said. HarperCollins will print 1.5 million copies for the book’s first run, the same number that was printed for late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s,’ whose I think the first week that book sold 68,000, Beck was twice that and now Sarah Palin’s book. Can I ask a question? I was looking at television ratings last night. MSNBC has fallen into third place. Do you realize how hard that is to do? As weak as CNN is, MSNBC has fallen to third place. Fox News in primetime has more audience than Headline News, MSNBC and CNN combined. Liberals publish books and nobody buys them! Conservatism, if you want to use the popular vernacular, has a whole bunch of stars right now, both media and literary. Where are these liberal stars? Where are these liberal media stars? They’re nowhere to be found. Their books don’t sell. Their networks don’t get ratings. Their magazines are losing circulation.
I saw the other day where TimeWarner may spin off the magazine division. That’s TIME and People and Fortune and all that. I got to thinking: Where are all these liberal media stars? Do you realize how much media is dominated by our guys these days? You look at our bench of potential presidential candidates. It’s a pretty good bench. You got Pawlenty, you’ve got Romney, you’ve got Palin. I’m leaving some people out. Who do they have, after Obama? Who do they have? Hillary? Reid? Pelosi? Boxer? Who do they have? Warner of Virginia? Yeah, big whoop. Let him write a book and let it show up. Biden’s book? Biden’s at like 400 some odd thousand on Amazon. So then you ask yourself: ‘How in the hell did these people win the election?’ And then you say: ‘No, how did these people get ten million votes more than our candidate?’ And the answer becomes obvious: Our candidate. Our candidate. This is a story of how we lost the election, how our party squandered a gold mine because they were trying to diminish and get rid of the conservative element of the Republican Party and that’s why where we are we are.

RUSH: When’s the last liberal media star to sell a million books anything, like Levin has done? I mean, nobody’s done that. Do you realize the biggest liberal media star right now is the bloated bigot Michael Moore? But… (interruption) Right. The movie is not selling that well, but that’s it: Where are all these supposed stars? These are the dominant people, the dominant culture. They’re the ones that have it. Where are they? We’re outclassing them and outperforming them left and right.
