RUSH: Yesterday morning on the Fox News Channel’s America’s Newsroom, the anchor, Bill Hemmer, spoke with Bob Beckel. He said, ‘The Obama campaign is set to release a 13-minute documentary about McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal from the early 1990s. How does this play with voters now, Bob? You get the first crack at this. Is this a strategery. How do you see it?’
HEMMER: The simple point that she was making is that his first political campaign of his life back in 1996 took place in the living room of Bill Ayers. That is factual, Bob.
BECKEL: But is that palling around with terrorists?
HEMMER: And later he served on a board, an education board in the south side of Chicago.
RUSH: Well, now, this is interesting. So here is Beckel, ‘She could be Freddy Krueger’s running buddy on Elm Street.’ Freddy Krueger was a murderer in a movie. ‘The simple point she was making is that his first political campaign in his life back in 1996 took place in the living room of Bill Ayers. That’s factual, Bob.’ ‘But that isn’t palling around with terrorists.’ Hey, Bob, for somebody like Obama who claims he didn’t know Ayers that well, why would Ayers give him $100 million to play around with education in the Chicago Annenberg project? That was Ayers’ idea. Why give somebody $100 million bucks to play around with education if you don’t know them that well? This Keating Five business, by the way, will not hold water. McCain has been exonerated of any of that. In fact, do you know what? Obama has one of the truly guilty Keating Five members on his advisory panel. That would be Ohio senator John Glenn. John Glenn was not exonerated in the Keating Five. He was found guilty. McCain was exonerated. John McCain had nothing to do with it. Obama has a Keating Five senator, convicted — well, I don’t know convicted, but affirmed that he was involved in the corruption on his advisory team, and that would be Senator John Glenn from Ohio.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: I want to go back to this Bob Beckel sound bite — and after that, I’m going to kick this printer into the corner like it’s a bunch of crap, and I’m going to feed it to the rats. Well, not here. I’ll put it in the building parking lot next door. Here’s Bob Beckel again. This is yesterday morning on the Fox News Channel. Hemmer, Bill Hemmer says, ‘The Obama campaign is set to release a 13-minute documentary about McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five. How does this play with voters, Bob? I mean, you get the first crack at this, this strategy. How do you see it?’
BECKEL: She [Palin] could be Freddy Krueger’s running buddy on Elm Street.
HEMMER: Come on!
BECKEL: Are you kidding me?
HEMMER: The simple point that she was making is that his first political campaign of his life, back in 1996, took place in the living room of Bill Ayers. That is factual, Bob.
BECKEL: But is that ‘palling around with terrorists’?
RUSH: Stop the tape. Yes! If you’re in the living room of a terrorist and he is hosting a fundraiser, you are palling around with a terrorist! When the same terrorist gives you 50 or a hundred million bucks to do with what you want to ‘fix education,’ I’d say you’re ‘palling around with a terrorist.’ Bob? Let me ask you a question, old buddy, old pal. What do Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common? They both have friends, Bob, who bombed the Pentagon. That’s palling around with terrorists, Bob! Then he goes on to say, Sarah Palin ‘could be Freddy Krueger’s running buddy on Elm Street.’ Do you all remember the incident in 2002 when Bob Beckel hired a hooker off the Internet? You can see it up there on The Smoking Gun. Her name is Maryam Massihi, a 21-year-old hooker. He had her into a bathroom and gave her a blank check to pay her.
Something like $1,300 was the charge. She tried to extort more. She ‘uses the names Tiffany and Cindy professionally. [H]er cohorts allegedly tried to extort $50,000 in hush money from [Beckel and his] recent run-in with [her] is detailed in this search warrant affidavit filed August 23 [2002] in Alexandria, Virginia’s Circuit Court. Beckel discovered his young consort via the Internet … and paid her by check, which proved helpful when cops began probing who was trying to [blackmail] Beckel. With Massihi…’ Who else paid by check? That’s right, Jerry Springer paid by check. When he was mayor of Cincinnati, he paid a hooker by check. So can we really expect any better from Bob Beckel, a guy who pals around with hookers and then pays ’em with checks that bounce? The check bounced! The $1,300 blank check bounced, and so the extortion scheme began. At least Beckel was paying for the real thing. You know, there are media people out there that will pay $2 million for phone sex settlement cases. At least Beckel was out there doing the real thing. Other guys just go out, have phone sex, and have to be bailed out to the tune of two million bucks to keep it quiet.
