RUSH: Here’s Cameron in San Antonio. Cameron, are you there, sir?
CALLER: Hello?
RUSH: Cameron, are you there, sir?
CALLER: Yes, sir, I am.
RUSH: Thank you. Appreciate your holding on.
CALLER: Yeah, you betcha. It’s been less than two hours.
RUSH: Well… (laughing)
CALLER: The reason I’m calling —
RUSH: There’s a price for everything.
CALLER: I’ve been listening to you for well over 20 years, okay? Way before you went national, from when you were still in California.
RUSH: Wow.
RUSH: That’s the Big Oil issue, right?
CALLER: Yes, sir.
RUSH: It looks like J.R. Ewing, does it not?
CALLER: You look better than he did. You look like you were born for that hat. I looked at that, I said, ‘I’m going to call him up and tell him, ‘Don’t ever take that hat off.”
RUSH: Well, you know, I’m flattered, Cameron. I always appreciate it when people compliment my appearance, even though it happens regularly. I’m flattered that you would take the time, and you’d wait less than two hours to make that point.
CALLER: Yeah, absolutely. I talked before, I can’t stay on the phone that long but just say something dumb, but when I saw that, I said, ‘I’ve got to tell him. I don’t care how long I have to wait, I’ve got to tell him what I think of that picture.’
RUSH: Thanks much.
CALLER: So I… Yeah —
RUSH: By the way, did you used to live in California or something, if…?
CALLER: No, I was a truck driver and one time coming out of California, dialing around looking for something to listen to, I heard this guy talking, and I said, ‘Who in the heck is this guy? Here’s some guy, he’s saying the things that I’ve been thinking for 30 years, and he’s putting it into words! I gotta find out who this guy is,’ and I’ve been listening to you religiously ever since.
RUSH: Well, then you’ve actually been listening more than 20 years.
CALLER: Yes, I have.
RUSH: Wow. Well, I’m flattered again. Thank you so much.
CALLER: Yes. And I’m 80.
RUSH: Are you still driving the truck?
CALLER: No, no, I’m 80, I’m retired and everything. I’m 80 years old, and I’ll be listening to you probably from the grave.
RUSH: Well, we do reach the grave.
CALLER: Yeah. (laughter)
RUSH: (laughter)
CALLER: Yes, sir. I thought, ‘By God, this time I have to call him and tell him this. I don’t care if it takes me three hours on the phone.’
RUSH: I appreciate it. All that for a picture on the latest Limbaugh Letter about Big Oil. It is good issue. A lot of people — I don’t mean to take away, but a lot of people — have made reference to it. I appreciate that.
CALLER: I was going to ask if you’ve had other calls.
RUSH: Yeah, I have. Mostly men, too.
