It goes on and on to say that because of the way this has all shaken out and — look, everybody in the Democrat Party realizes here that this is up to the superdelegates and Hillary’s undies, the decideds for Hillary that are now undeciding for her and what the Clinton machine is going to do to engineer these superdelegates for her and these delegates from Florida and Michigan. So here’s the money quote, the money paragraph from Armstrong Williams’ piece. ‘The word on the street is that the Obama campaign and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg have already met and devised an incredible plan if Clinton wins the nomination. Mayor Bloomberg would give nearly $1 billion to Obama’s campaign, after which Obama would bolt from the Democratic Party and run as an Independent candidate with Bloomberg as his running mate. The Obama campaign realizes that Obama is too new at this game and doesn’t have the political weight of the Clintons to bring in the true heavy-hitters of the party’s hierarchy. So, according to sources, it was Bloomberg himself who suggested this strategery. It’s mind boggling that the Clintons are willing to destroy the entire Democratic Party, and potentially in the process lose the White House and seats in Congress, for their own selfish thirst for power and glory.’
It’s not at all mind-boggling, Armstrong. I don’t know about this rumor on the street that Bloomberg would give Obama a billion bucks and Obama would bolt the Democrat Party with Bloomberg as the veep, but I was one of the first to predict that if they have to blow up the convention hall in Denver, they’ll do it. If they have to make this party an absolute shambles, they will do it. For crying out loud, what is so hard to understand about this? This is what is has all been for. Mrs. Clinton’s life, the most cheated on woman in the world, the woman who has had to suffer humiliation, after humiliation, after humiliation, after giving up her own independent life, in exchange for this deal, that leads to this campaign. This is what it has all been for. The 35 years of not helping children while saying you’re helping children. This has been what it’s all about, and to think they’re just going to accept the will of Democrat voters and delegates at the convention and say, ‘Sorry, Mrs. Clinton, but we actually want Obama,’ and go happily back to the Senate with Bill back to Chappaqua or wherever and everything is hunky-dory? People do not understand the Clintons.
They will wreck this party in order to get the nomination. ‘But, Rush, but, Rush, if they wreck the party, how can they win the presidency?’ Get to that later. They’ll wreck the country next to get the presidency. But they’ll wreck the party first to get the nomination. I’m exaggerating a bit here. I’m trying to make a point. I don’t think most of us can understand the lust, the sense of entitlement, wanting something since you were 19 in college and thinking that just because you wanted it, it was yours. And, after planning an entire life, forgoing the normal pursuits of happiness and pleasure, in exchange for every day of your life being a calculation: the people you hang with, the friends you supposedly make, all of the money you raise, the obligations that you enter into. All of it engineered not for the genuine human concerns of relationships and family and friends, but for a political prize. To have it six months after you thought it was inevitable be up for grabs and just go away quietly? Folks, it’s not going to be that easy. That’s why this is, to me, shaking out to be so much fun, because we haven’t even seen the fireworks start yet.

RUSH: I’m thinking about Armstrong Williams’ piece. If he’s right about this, sources on the street say that if Hillary gets the nomination, Bloomberg is going to give Obama a billion dollars, Obama will bolt the Democrat Party, Bloomberg will become his veep. If that’s true, we gotta go Hillary. We have to support Hillary on this program to get the Democrat nomination, folks, because Bloomberg will then destroy the Democrat Party, and it won’t matter what McCain does. I mean that’s a way out of this. Oh, I hope this is true. Oh, would that not be something. Mike Bloomberg, destroy the Democrat Party with a $1 billion donation to Obama.

RUSH: This superdelegate thing, let me get this on the table and just lay it out. Let’s just cut through all the chase, because, frankly, I’m sick and tired of watching all these cable news networks analyze, will the superdelegates go for Hillary, or will the superdelegates go for Obama? It’s just irrelevant here. If the purpose of the superdelegates is to merely ratify the will of Democrats who already voted in primaries, then what’s the point of having superdelegates? There is no point. Therefore, the truth is the purpose of the superdelegates has always been to counter the will of the voters if the party’s grand pooh-bahs believe that they must. It was established after McGovern took the nomination in order to prevent another debacle of that sort. The whole reason for the superdelegates was McGovern wins big and they lose in a 49-state landslide to Richard Nixon, who they hated! The Democrats never, ever, trust the voters, not even their own. The whole point of the superdelegates is for the party leaders to wrest control of the nomination for who they think it ought to be. So we want, after this little blurb here about this rumor on the street that Bloomberg will give Obama a billion bucks to bolt the Democrat Party, Bloomberg be the veep, man, we now want Mrs. Clinton to steal the nomination. And she will need the superdelegates in order to do this. It’s painfully clear now.
She probably will need the Florida and Michigan delegates, which means that we conservative Republicans must stand up for democracy and the American way and the right that every vote count, regardless the rules, the rules were cheated rules to begin with. I mean if you go back to Florida and Michigan, the whole point of getting rid of Florida and Michigan — Armstrong Williams right about this — the Clintons didn’t think they’d need ’em. Hillary had a 42% lead in Florida at the time they made these rules. Didn’t think they were going to need any of that. Super Tuesday came along and changed everything. So we want her, if she has to steal the nomination, we want her to do that, she will need the superdelegates, she has every right to win them if she can get them. And because they’re free to go however they want, so she can campaign for the superdelegates, and screw the rest of this on out. Hubert Humphrey got the nomination in ’68 without winning a primary. I want the Clintons to blow up the conventional hall in Denver if they have to, and then I want Obama to bolt. I want Bloomberg to throw a billion bucks — oh, folks, this is too good to be true. It’s just too good to be true.
