RUSH: James in Osage Beach, Missouri. Nice to have you with us.
CALLER: Hey, Rush, how are you today?
RUSH: I’m fine, sir.
CALLER: Good. I have a question and a quick comment, if I could.
RUSH: Yeah.
CALLER: My question is, you know the liberal media wants a Democrat elected no matter what. If they deem, if they start to sense that Clinton is unelectable, do you think they’ll dump her, and do you think it’s perhaps started already?
RUSH: Uhhhhhhhhh — I’m answering as an intellectual — uhhhhhhhhhhh — boy, if they deem her unelectable, will they dump her? Yes. This goes so against the conventional wisdom. And, remember, leadership is found outside consensus. And the consensus is that Hillary’s got this wrapped up. The consensus is that Mrs. Clinton owns the press, and she does, has them in her back pocket. But the press doesn’t want to lose. Mitigating your question, or mitigating the answer is that I don’t really think the press inside the Beltway thinks a Democrat can lose. I don’t think they think Mrs. Clinton could lose if she gets the nomination. So let me revise it. I don’t think that they will abandon her and take up sides. However, Obama’s coming on strong. We’ve got a couple stories that will indicate that the press is paying attention now here to the supposedly tightening poll numbers.
