NATO just intercepted a shipment of weapons headed to terrorists in Afghanistan. Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns said there’s “irrefutable evidence” that the arms are “coming from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard corps command, which is a basic unit of the Iranian government.” These shipments are an “outright violation” of UN Security Council resolutions, said Burns, “and the Iranians need to stop it.”

Sure. While we’re at it – let’s note that the Iranians need to stop sending weapons and support to terrorists in Iraq. To really get tough, let’s say that the Iranians need to stop threatening to build nukes – and they need to stop threatening to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. After that, we can even state that they need to stop holding the four Americans they’ve got hostage – as well as declare that they need to stop shutting down newspapers that oppose their terrorist-sponsoring, anti-West, radical Islamofascist regime.

And who do you suppose will make them stop? Shall we put the matter to a “global test”? Turn to the UN for another round of useless resolutions? Look to the White House? Liberals have so demonized the War on Terror that there’s little political will to confront Iran – and Iran knows it. So they’ll continue killing Americans through terrorist proxies, literally – while Democrats continue trying to kill George Bush, politically. When and if we’re attacked again, those of you ignoring the warning signs … will wonder how it happened – and why!
