RUSH: This is Deb in Coopersville, Michigan. Welcome to the EIB Network.
CALLER: Hi, Rush.
RUSH: Hi.
CALLER: Coopersville is a good place to be. It’s pretty cold today, though.
CALLER: Yep, yep.
RUSH: You only think it’s cold.
CALLER: Too funny. Hey, we home school four kids and we want to thank you for what you do in helping us teach our kids about political science, the right side of it.
RUSH: You’re welcome.
CALLER: My daughters and I had are heading to Washington, DC, tonight to go to The March for Life on Monday and we’re going to do some sight-seeing and shopping and we were wondering what your favorite historical site is and restaurant, in Washington, DC.
RUSH: Well, I don’t have a favorite restaurant in Washington because I haven’t eaten in one — I don’t go there enough. I can’t remember the last restaurant I ate at in Washington.
CALLER: Okay.
RUSH: Wait, yes, I can, it was 1992 and it was the Old Ebbitt Grill.
CALLER: Oh, that’s on our list, someone else has suggested that.
RUSH: Yeah, it’s not far from the White House.
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: I’ll tell you why. That was the day I went to the White House to have dinner with President Bush 41, and I had heard that he and his wife Barbara ate like birds, so I was advised to go eat a real dinner before I showed up. I went into the Old Ebbitt Grill with a friend. As for historical sites, my God you’re not going to have enough time to see them all. For me, aside from the Lincoln Memorial and Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument, of course, I go nuts over the Air and Space Museum.
CALLER: Okay.
RUSH: That place is just fascinating to me, and they’ve recently — well, within a couple years, three years, expanded it. It’s part of the Smithsonian.
CALLER: Yes.
RUSH: It’s a shame you can’t get out to Mount Vernon, George Washington’s home. You would not believe what they have done to revive this place as a historical and educational center. It would literally blow your mind. What else that you could do? Well, you?ve got the war memorials, you’ve got the Vietnam and Korea and World War II memorials.
RUSH: Yeah, well, you’re doing all this stuff.
CALLER: We just wanted to find out what your favorite thing was.
RUSH: Well, jeez. You know, the National Archives, gotta see the actual Constitution.
CALLER: Oh, cool.
RUSH: Place where Sandy Burglar stole the documents.
CALLER: Oh.
RUSH: In his socks, good place to see. You might want to go to Fort Marcy Park, see if you get out alive.
CALLER: Okay. (Laughing.)
RUSH: No, but I tell you, the airspace museum, they’ve got items in there that — I could spend all day in there.
CALLER: Okay. Well, thank you very much. We’re looking forward to having a good time.
RUSH: You bet. The Lincoln bedroom would be nice but unfortunately you need an invitation to get in there.
CALLER: Oh, yeah, I don’t think I want to take my daughters there.
RUSH: In this administration. Wait ’til the next Democrat and you can buy your way in for a hundred grand.
CALLER: I think I’ll pass.
RUSH: All right, well, have fun.
CALLER: Thank you.
RUSH: You bet. Thanks, Deb.
