Ask someone to name just one memorable thing John Kerry has ever said. So far, the most memorable thing he’s said is, “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it.” Now, don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not thinking this election is over and in the bag. I’m offering you a perspective at this particular moment in time. All the media spin in the world is not going to give the Democratic Party and the liberals any substance.
Al Gore should have Botoxed his armpits. He probably just did Botox for that Rolling Stone cover where they airbrushed his package. Because Kerry is so weak, the Democrats are going to keep throwing out surrogates like Richard Clarke and Bob Woodward and John Dean and Ted Kennedy. Don’t think that the American people are being fooled by all this spin. Bush ought to be 30 points down if these people have the power that you fear they have with all they’ve thrown at Bush since he took office, and with where the economy has come from.
Instead, he’s leading Kerry in many key battleground states including Florida. Successful politicians in any office have some things in common, such as super-identifiable premises, issues, desires, goals and objectives. In the case of Reagan, he was going to lower taxes, roll back government and wipe out the communists. He didn’t go off on tangents or get sidetracked. Bill Clinton, whether it was true or not, was going to restore the worst economy in the last 50 years ? “It’s the economy, stupid.” He was going to “put people first.” Kerry has no such core principles or vision. You have to know how to laugh at this crowd.
