ERA: Kerry’s Back Door to Gay Marriage
by Rush Limbaugh - Feb 26,2004
The amendment read: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” Writes Neumayr, “It was a lawyer’s delight. It said nothing. It opened everything up to litigation. It was an amendment to the Constitution which opponents said then would establish a justification of same-sex marriage. Harvard law professor Paul Friend testified to a Senate subcommittee during ERA hearings that gay marriage would logically result from the Equal Rights Amendment.”
Kerry called the ERA “the only systematic way to achieve full equality for women under law, including equal opportunity in employment, equal pay and an end to sex discrimination in insurance, pensions and annuities.” Here Kerry was all for amending the Constitution when it meant sucking up to the radical feminists, but now it’s the end of the world. Of course you realize I’m “challenging Kerry patriotism” by even mentioning his record. We’re not supposed to do this. I am taking a huge risk. This man may become president, and therefore may end up running the FCC!
