Some Daschle Facts You May Have Forgotten

by Rush Limbaugh - Nov 22,2002

Phillips’ continues: “Daschle went on to explain that the growth of terrorist type violence is likely the result of an Islamic version of Rush Limbaugh.” But when asked for proof by CNN, he failed to provide any. Then comes the list of liberal vitriol. NPR’s Sunni Khalid said of Newt Gingrich: “I think he’s looking at a more scientific, a more civil way of lynching people.”
On the November 2, 1994 episode of the CBS Evening News, reporter Eric Engberg claimed that Newt waged “such constant guerilla war against the Democrats, he was attacked for McCarthyism.” CBS Sunday Morning, January 8, 1995: TV critic John Leonard described the Gingrich-led Congress as “a slash and burn Khmer Rouge.” Bryant Gumbel asked House Minority Leader Dick Gephardt: “Do you think middle class Americans are in need of protection from that group?”
The piece goes on to say exactly what I’ve said: I have an opinion, but I admit it. These supposedly objective reporters do not. Mr. Phillips closes this way: “It’s far more believable that Newt Gingrich is a target of threats due to this incessant denigration, than Daschle was as a result of substantive disagreements on talk radio. In virtual unison, the Hollywood left has condemned the Bush administration in the most spiteful terms possible, maintaining their long-standing tradition of casting conservatives as bigots and religious zealots.” But they can’t get away with it – not like they used to. That’s what really burns ’em.
