RUSH: The Amazon Prime/Washington Post editorial board has decided that the horrific mass shooting in Thousand Oaks, California, is a major turning point in their battle to disarm America.

The liberals at the Post say voters sent a message in the midterms, that “enough is enough” when it comes to guns. They say that Washington state voters strengthened their gun-control laws last Tuesday, and that a bunch of incoming Democrat House members and governors ran on new gun laws.

Well, here’s what’s missing in the Amazon Prime/Washington Post analysis: California already has very strict gun laws, among the very strictest in the country. And the deranged shooter was a known problem to law enforcement and he was a leftist. That’s why the left says he was “mentally disturbed.”

But never mind any of that. If Democrats want to spend the next two years running on banning guns, granting amnesty, forcing impeachment, investigating Trump for everything, and endless welfare spending, let them! In fact, let’s encourage that.
