RUSH: Now, our buddies is the NewsBusters.org have been monitoring a bunch of polling data — and it’s all lies, and it’s all there to help Obama. The network’s selective coverage of their own polls corresponds with CNN on-air hosts scandalously ignoring the fact that their own polling found that 66% of Americans supported Cut, Cap, and Balance, the Republicans’ plan. CNN didn’t report it, not on air. It was on their website. If you went to website, you saw: 66% of Americans support the Republican Cut, Cap, and Balance; also that 74% would support a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution. None of that, neither of those items were reported over the air in newscasts at CNN. That famous NBC/Wall Street Journal poll we talked about on Friday of “adults,” not likely voters?

“An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that despite warnings of supposedly dire consequences if the debt ceiling was not raised, 31% of Americans were against raising it. After providing a brief explanation of both you sides of the argument, that number went up to 43% opposed to raising the debt limit. The CBS News poll found an even higher 49% of Americans thought Congress should not raise the debt ceiling.” Obama’s not winning this. The Democrats aren’t winning this, and they haven’t been. “The closest ABC News came to actually asking the question was to simply wonder who Americans would blame for the assumed disaster that would befall the nation if the debt ceiling was not raised. All three networks did find time used…”

Did find time used? You know, you can’t even count on journalists to write things that make sense! What it says here is, “All three networks did find time use their respective poll…” I guess it’s did find time to “use their respective poll findings to focus blame for the stalemate on the Republicans. Tuesday, Diane Sawyer, ABC, proclaimed Republicans bearing the brunt of the blame, 67%,” blah, blah. NBC’s The Today Show political director F. Chuck Todd said, “Most of this poll shows that the middle of the country and majority of Americans basically don’t like the Republican position,” which wasn’t true. Honest to God, folks, they were simply misrepresenting what was actually in their poll.

The CNN poll, for example, actually found 63% of Democrats back Cut, Cap, and Balance. But it wasn’t reported. You had to go out there and you had to find it on their website, ’cause it wasn’t reported. “[O]n Monday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Chris Wragge observed: ‘And congressional Republicans also have an issue here as well. Seventy-one percent say they disapprove of their handling of things.'” Yet from CNN: “President Barack Obama’s approval rating is down to 45 percent, driven in part by growing dissatisfaction on the left with the president’s track record in office, according to a new national survey. A CNN/ORC International Poll also indicates that the Republican ‘brand’ is taking a beating in the minds of Americans.”

You can read the results in detail. I’m not gonna waste your time with it here, but you have to be… Folks, stop and think of this. To tick off — as the first black Democrat American president, to tick off — a bunch of liberals, you really have to be screwing up. Because you’ve got a grace period. You’ve got a honeymoon that never ends. But it’s apparently over — and then there’s this from Rasmussen: “The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Voters,” this is from yesterday, “shows that 45% trust Republicans more when it comes to handling economic issues, while 35% put more trust in Democrats. Nineteen percent (19%) are undecided.

“The gap was the closest in years in May when the GOP held just a 46% to 42% lead on the economy, which voters have consistently regarded as the most important of 10 issues regularly tracked by Rasmussen Reports. Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on nine of those 10 issues. … A majority of voters continue to support repeal of the national health care law and believe it will increase the federal deficit.” You know, so I could sit here and I could say, “Uh, yoo-hoo? Yoo-hoo, Mr. Senator guy? Mr. Democrat senator guy? You want to look over here? I have something I want to show you here: The American public by 10% trust Republicans more on the economy than you.
“It’s right here in a poll released Sunday night. Republicans trusted on the economy 10% more than the Democrats. You want to know why you’re all in trouble?”
