RUSH: Ann Coulter’s got a new book out. You’ve probably seen it all over television. She has a new book called, Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama. It is a typically hard-hitting and, at the same time, uniquely humorous book. You know Ms. Coulter. She pulls no punches whatsoever. She is afraid of no man, no woman, no dictator, no dictatorette. So you get the title of the book, Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama.

There’s a tie-in to the elections in that Obama and the Democrats are using racism to get out the black vote. You know, in 2008… This is one of the things that happening out there, I think. In 2008, the Drive-Bys didn’t have to do a whole lot to generate turnout for Obama because it existed on its own. He was The Messiah. He was The One. He read speeches in Berlin and all over the world. All they had to do in 2008 was just not tell anybody about him.

All they had to do was just continue that theme, that narrative, that he was God, essentially. That there had never been anybody like him in American politics. That Obama alone could unify all Americans, could get rid of partisanship, could make politics functional, end gridlock. The best of everything would be found and put to good use in virtually every aspect of Obama’s presidency! Americans would be loved and respected all over the world again.

Because, as you know, the world hates America because of George W. Bush. (This is one of the things that was thematic in 2008.) So all they really had to do was sit back and watch. In fact, if you recall in 2008 during the primaries with Hillary, the media was split into two camps. And it was the left who started debating whether or not Obama was “authentically black.” Meaning: Did he have “slave blood”? Meaning: Was he “down for the struggle”? It was the LA Times guy, a black columnist, who wrote a column called “Obama the ‘Magic Negro.'”

We ought get that song out. We haven’t played that in a long time. In honor of Ann Coulter’s book, it might be a great time to go back to Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorites to get the “Magic Negro,” because the lyrics in that song tell the story. And, if you’re hearing it for the first time, everybody assumes I wrote it, that I made it up. This is strictly from an LA Times column that a liberal black columnist wrote at the LA Times called, “Obama ‘The Magic Negro.'” We did a song about it.

But this is 2012 and Obama has not drawn the big crowds.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Coulter’s book, again, Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama, is a treatise on how the Democrats have used race and black people and minorities to get where they want at the expense — these people are no better off having been coddled and taken care of by the Democrats for all these years. So, in honor of the book we go to the Grooveyard of Forgotten Favorites. And to be relevant here in the 2012 campaign, we have this, white comedian Paul Shanklin sings.

(playing of song)

I did not write this. Well, I mean, I did, but it’s the LA Times that did.

(continued playing of song)

The song has fallen apart. Chorus now comes in to save the day.
