RUSH: The Kaiser Family Foundation, a major health care provider, went out and did an exhaustive, extensive survey of the American people. Do you know what the Kaiser Family Foundation found? They found that 42% the American people have no idea that Obamacare is law. Now, stop for a moment and let that sink in: 42% of the American people have no idea that there is a new health care law, no matter what it’s called. They don’t know it exists. Forty-two percent!
Folks, if that’s the case, repeal it! If 42% don’t even know what it is, don’t worry about who supports it. Just get the hell rid of it! My gosh, if there’s ever been a green light put in front of the Republican Party over anything: 42% of the American people don’t know what it is! Aside from the political aspects, for crying out loud! What does it say about the awareness of the people in this country who vote that 42% do not know that Obamacare exists, that it’s the law of the land? They are totally clueless about it.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: I keep going back to this story from the Kaiser Family Foundation. It was actually done by ABC News first: “The Kaiser Family Foundation released results of a non-partisan study today finding more than 40% did not even know [Obamacare] was in place,” do not even know that there is a health care law, do not even know that the new health care law is in place.
The report actually says, “Four in ten Americans (42%) are unaware that the ACA [Affordable Care Act] is still the law of the land including 12% who believe the law has been repealed by Congress, 7% who believe it has been overturned by the Supreme Court and 23% who say they donÂ’t know enough to say what the status of the law is.” Well, I have to say the news media should be very proud.
This is the exact kind of ignorance that the regime is counting on! This is the exact kind of ignorance the Democrat Party is counting on to achieve what they want to achieve. This kind of detached, literal ignorance: 42%, low-information citizens are clueless about Obamacare. Now, on the other side of this: To me, this is a golden opportunity for the Republican Party. If 42% don’t even know what it is, repeal it.
(New Castrati impression) “Well, Mr. Limbaugh, that would be fraught with danger because if the Republicans start to repeal it then the 42% will know that it exists and they may like it!” Well, there’s always a risk in life. Well, my gosh, 12% think it’s been repealed, 7% think it was overturned. So you’ve already got 19% who think it did exist but it’s already been erased. They’re not rioting in the streets, and they’re not marching on Washington demanding that it be replaced.
Cybercast News Service: “Support for Obamacare has hit the lowest level since the bill was passed, the latest Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows. Overall, just 35 percent have a favorable view of Obamacare while 40 percent have an unfavorable view, which ties an October 2011 poll for the lowest level ever. … More than half of Americans (53 percent) support efforts to change or block the law, while only a third (33 percent) believe opponents should accept Obamacare as the law of the land.”
And from TheHill.com: “Botched Obamacare Rollout Tops Democratic Fears for 2014 Election — Anxious Democrats fear a botched implementation of ObamaCare could dash their hopes of controlling the House and Senate for President ObamaÂ’s last two years in office.” Now, let’s put these things together. You got 42% who don’t know that it’s the law of the land. In as little as seven months they are going to be hit upside the head with it and it’s not gonna be pretty. Forty-two percent do not know what’s coming their way in the form of taxes, bye-bye health plan that you’ve got, might be reduced to 30 hours a week at your job so that they don’t have to cover you. Hello, 21-page application form to fill out — well, it’s been reduced to five pages now — at an exchange? Hello, possible fines from the IRS if you don’t have coverage. I mean, the stuff that people don’t know that they’re gonna get hit with?
Ha!
