RUSH: Well, I haven’t been watching it but Cookie just sent me a note saying that Obama is out ripping into Bush again. We’re rolling on this, and we’ll have it in due course. But he is making a speech somewhere. He’s talking about Osama Bin Laden and most of his top lieutenants are dead. “The threat has shifted and evolved from one that came to us on 9/11.” What in the world? I’m just catching this. I have no idea what this is about. What is he talking about? (interuption) Okay. Okay. So he’s explaining the drone policy, and he wants to close Gitmo, okay, okay. Justifying closing Club Gitmo. Gotcha.
Yeah, those Al-Qaeda guys, they’re really done, right? Like that guy in England beheaded a guy, and there was an Al-Qaeda — just, yeah, meat cleavers and knives. I’ve got a sound bite about this. Let me find it. I wasn’t gonna do it. I gotta find it. Yeah. Let’s start with number nine.
I wasn’t gonna do this, but since he’s out there saying it’s over with and done with and whatever the problem was, it was because of Bush. Here is last night in London on ITV news, the unidentified terrorist who had just hacked a British soldier to death, spoke to a camera that caught the attack, and this is a portion of what the terrorist said.
TERRORIST: We swear by the almighty Allah, we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. I apologize that women had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.
RUSH: Were you able to hear that? You were? See, I wasn’t. It’s a good thing I have a transcript here, I wouldn’ta known what the guy said. He said, “We swear by the Almighty Allah,” Allahu Akbar, “we’ll never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for a eye and an tooth for a tooth. I apologize that women had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government. They don’t care about you.” Okay? That’s the murderer, an avowed member of Al-Qaeda. So now we next go to Boris Johnson this morning in Woolwich, England, the London mayor speaking with reporters.
JOHNSON: This is not a question now of blaming the religion of Islam. It is certainly not a question of blaming any aspect of British foreign policy or what British R troops do in operations abroad when they risk our [sic] lives on behalf of all of us. Everybody can see that the fault for this lies exclusively, wholly, and entirely in the minds of those who were responsible for this crime, and they are going to be brought to justice.
RUSH: Okay, got that, folks? (imitating Johnson) “This is not a question now of blaming the religion of Islam.” Of course not. Why would anybody think that? The guy is just out there proclaiming Islam. He’s out there praising Allah. “We will never stop fighting you. We’re gonna fight you as long as you fight us, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. Remove your government, they don’t care about you.” This guy is a lone wolf, said the mayor, Boris Johnson. It’s not a question of blaming the religion. It’s certainly not a question of blaming any aspect of British foreign policy. Everybody can see that. The fault of this lies exclusively, wholly, and entirely in the minds of those who were responsible for the crime. Well, that’s true, but you can’t deny who they are.
Oh, yes, we can. This is not Islam. Don’t anybody think this is Islam. It’s not Allah. It is not Islam. It’s not the religion of Islam. It is not a religion. The cops knew who he was. This guy actually is a well-known Islamic radical. He’s been handing out radical pamphlets and so forth for years. I know, British born. You could hear that in his voice, British born. So that takes us now to well-known foreign policy specialist Christiane Amanpour, who works disguised as a journalist at CNN. And last night she was on Anderson Cooper 225. And Anderson Cooper said, “Okay, Christiane, British authorities haven’t seen this kind of attack before, have they?”
AMANPOUR: The words that he’s saying, this man, who’s been captured on cell phone video, are almost exact replicas of what these 7/7 bombers said in their video that they left before they blew up the underground and the buses. It’s almost the exact replica of what Dzhokhar Tsarnaev wrote on that boat that he was found in, you know, the end of that manhunt. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. But the question really is, are these people part of a bigger conspiracy, a bigger Al-Qaeda? And just about everybody that I’ve spoken to today says it does not look like that. This was very, very low tech. It seems to be homegrown. It seems to be lone wolf, if you like, even copycat kind of crime.
RUSH: Right. Right. This is just mindless radicalized individuals. They have nothing to do with the larger Al-Qaeda. And don’t be an idiot and think so. If you think they’ve got anything to do with the larger Al-Qaeda group, then you’re a conspiratorial right-wing kook and a freak. Don’t think that. Everybody I’ve spoken to today, and I only know the smartest liberals, said to me that it doesn’t look like it’s part of a bigger conspiracy and bigger Al-Qaeda. These are just copycat lone wolves, radicalized domestic malcontents. And don’t worry, folks. We may have had a marathon bombing, little beheading here or there, but it isn’t Al-Qaeda, because Obama defeated them. Well, that’s the story line, that’s the narrative. Obama defeated Al-Qaeda, so these guys, these are just the onesies and the twosies.
AMANPOUR: After this more than decade-long war against Al-Qaeda, by and large massive attacks on the homeland, massive Al-Qaeda spectacular attacks, have not happened again since. And intelligence experts always told us that what it was going to be would be Al-Qaeda affiliates and franchises and also onesies and twosies. And that’s exactly what people said. And this is what we’re seeing, whether it’s Boston or here today.
RUSH: Yeah. Nothing to worry about, in other words. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, same thing he said in the boat, same thing this guy, the hacker in London. Nothing to worry about here, nothing to see. These are just the onesies and the twosies. They’re not part of the larger Al-Qaeda, Al-Qaeda affiliates. Obama defeated them. Osama’s dead. It can’t be those guys. We’re gonna close Club Gitmo. It isn’t any big deal. Piers Morgan last night on CNN, Piers Morgan Live.
MORGAN: They’ve all been using the same kind of rhetoric as well. The killer we saw on camera in London there talking in a very similar way to the way that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had talked when he scrawled in his handwritten words his mission statement on that boat where he was found, the 7/7 bombers, remember in London, using similar language. It is a pattern now of random and yet possibly connected Al-Qaeda style groups.
RUSH: Like I said, it’s almost identical verbatim to what Christiane Amanpour said. Do you think somebody got a memo out? How do you explain that? Christiane Amanpour and Piers Morgan both say for all intents and purposes the identical thing. Somebody sent a memo out. Somebody is in charge of the narrative. Somebody in the regime is in charge of the narrative, and the message, “Look, it’s onesies and twosies. It’s individuals, nothing to see here. It’s not the larger Al-Qaeda, they’re not a factor anymore. Benghazi, no, no, no, just a random video that caused all that.” Do you see a pattern here?
Modern governments, liberal governments, be they British or American, have lost control of this. And nothing can be their fault, nothing can be because they have shrunken defense budgets, they have been lazy in foreign policy, nothing can be their fault. It’s gotta be just things that nobody could predict, nobody could stop, nothing to see here. Just the onesies and twosies. It has nothing to do with Islam. You know, these guys were probably influenced by a bunch of rabid Christians who wanted tax-exempt foundations at the IRS. That probably is what ticked ’em off, when you get right down to it. All these random Al-Qaeda terrorists, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and all, are probably just mad at the Christian Coalition, mad at the Tea Party. So if we could just, you know, get rid of the Tea Party, maybe these guys would stop hating us.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Grab sound bite 28. We have one Obama here. By the way, one thing about the attack in Britain. I don’t know if you’ve heard this or not. British soldiers have now been ordered to, in effect, stand down. The UK Telegraph is saying that because of the Woolwich attack, the beheading, troops are ” not to wear uniform travelling to and from work or outside bases. … Defense sources said the order had been given that uniform should not be worn by those travelling alone, or on public transport as a “common sense precaution” immediately after the killing.”
Now, you want to talk about standing down? A “lone guy” did this. Somebody help me out. I’m not up to speed. Did they capture the guy? (interruption) They did capture him? Oh, they killed him. Okay. Okay so they killed him and the other guy was apprehended. ‘Cause I was thinking, “If this guy is still running around…” It was a cell phone video. So they captured the guy. Anyway, because of one guy, the British military have been told not to wear their uniforms. Their uniforms are a target.
One guy, folks! But this is not a big group, a big organization. This is not Al-Qaeda, and it isn’t Islam. You talk about sending a signal to the terrorists? This is the biggest win they could have! The British military, in order to be safe — in order to be safe and secure — have been told not to wear their uniforms off the base. (sigh) I mean, that’s upside down. Here is Obama in Washington today. This is part of his speech. He’s making a speech, and it’s still ongoing. This is a part of it.
OBAMA: Today the core of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pok-ee-stahn is on the path to defeat. Their remaining operatives spend more time thinking about their own safety than plotting against us. They did not direct the attacks in Benghazi or Boston.
RUSH: Well, okay! Cool!
Then there’s nothing really to see here. “Al-Qaeda did not direct the attacks in Benghazi.” It was an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group, but Al-Qaeda had nothing to do with it. That’s the Limbaugh Theorem. The Limbaugh Theorem is now being applied by the president to Al-Qaeda. They did it, but they had nothing to do with it. Benghazi. In fact, Al-Qaeda is so scared, they’re on the run in Afghanistan and “Pok-ee-stahn.”
They’re on the run because they know they’re on the path to defeat. Benghazi? That had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda. In fact, Al-Qaeda’s on the run! We beat ’em. We killed Osama, nothing to see here. In fact, I don’t even know why the president’s doing such a long speech. There’s no need. There is no threat. Just close Club Gitmo and let that be it.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: This is laughable. Obama is still talking. How many hours, minutes does it take to say, “We beat ’em, they don’t exist, and we’re closing Club Gitmo”? How long does it take to say that? In fact, get this. Folks, you gotta hear this. He’s at the National Defense University, and he’s talking about his regime’s counterterrorism policy. If this sounds like the transcript reads… Well, just listen. Let’s see if it does.
OBAMA: It is a hard fact —
RUSH: Yeah?
OBAMA: — that US strikes have resulted in civilian casualties —
RUSH: Yep.
OBAMA: — a risk that exists in every war.
RUSH: Yep.
OBAMA: For the families of those civilians, no words or legal construct can justify their loss.
RUSH: Send ’em money.
OBAMA: For me and those in my chain of command, those deaths will haunt us for as long as we live —
RUSH: Send ’em money.
OBAMA: — just as we are haunted by the civilian casualties that have occurred throughout conventional fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.
RUSH: What? He’s essentially apologizing for civilian casualties we’ve inflicted around the world in the War on Terror. Hey, while you’re at it, why don’t you apologize for Hiroshima and Nagasaki? (interruption) I know he tried to. Why don’t you go for it? Just do it. Apologize for that. Apologize to Mexico for the war where we took California from ’em. And then, you know, apologize to the South. No! He wouldn’t do that.
Apologize to the North. No, he wouldn’t do that. Apologize to the Indians. Apologize to the Native Americans for Manhattan, 24 bucks. Well, I’m giving you every example where the wars that we won were determined by civilian death. Back in the days when you won wars, that’s how you defined winning. That’s when your opponents sued for peace. When we bombed Germany, we were bombing civilians. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, we were bombing civilians.
(New Castrati impression) “Mr. Limbaugh, that’s really cold-hearted.”
It’s true, Mr. New Castrati. It’s the way it was.
