RUSH: My friends, I am so excited. I have been waiting for this day to be able to tell you something. I have been waiting with bated breath. I have been chomping at the bit. I’ve almost let it slip out of the bag a couple of times, and now I don’t have to worry about it slipping out of the bag because today I can announce it.

No, no, no, I did not buy Apple computer, and I didn’t make an offer on the New York Times or any of that. This is so cool, and I’ve been wanting to tell you all about this for the longest time. It has been an amazingly productive, fun, busy past bunch of months. For the longest time, 20 years, people have been urging me to write another book, and particularly my good friend, the late Vince Flynn. The last three, four years, every time that we would get together — he called me Rushbo — he said, “How’s the book coming, Rushbo?”

He thought it was necessary. It wasn’t something just to do because it was the next thing to do in the career line. He said, “You need to do this.”

I said, “Vince, I’ve done it. I’ve been there and I’ve done that. I’ve done the conservative manifestos, and everyone else has done ’em, too.”

And he said, “Well, why don’t you put together a compilation? Look at all the monologues you’ve done on the radio and you’ve preserved all of them on your website. You could get somebody to edit those things and put together three or four books of some of your greatest monologues, each one a chapter.” It’s a great idea, but I never moved forward on it. And then out of the blue… well, the timeline is kind of sketchy on this, but my wife, Kathryn, in conjunction with Vince’s entreaties to me, came up with an idea that literally lit a fire under me.

She said, “You know, you’re always talking about how history is being mistaught. You’re right. You’re always talking about what kids are learning these days, and they’re not learning about the greatness of America. They’re not learning about the founding days. They’re not learning the right things about the people, the great people, the exceptional people who founded this country.” And she said, “Why don’t you write a book for kids? A series of books for kids, maybe — see how the first one goes — that sets the record straight on American history.”

And so that is what has happened. And what we have done, we have brought to life Rush Revere, our character at Two If By Tea. And we have today the ability to announce to you a book that is aimed for everybody, but it’s for kids, to learn the truth about the very early and beginning days of this country, but it is a book for everybody to buy. Everybody has kids in school, and they’re worried sick about what they’re learning. And some of you don’t know what to do, how to counter what your kids are being taught, and so Rush Revere to the rescue here.

The book is Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans. It is by me, and I’m gonna zoom in on the Dittocam here and I’m gonna show you the cover of the book. The book is available for pre-order as we speak at Amazon. It is available at iTunes. It is available as a hardcover. It is available as an audio book, and, you know, ladies and gentlemen, I don’t talk about myself much. I really don’t brag much. It took about three nights to do the audio book, and I have to tell you, I am as proud of the reading of the audio version of this book as I am of anything I’ve done. It’s gonna be quite an addition to the hardcover. You can search my name, you can search the title, just go in there and search “Rush Limbaugh” or search “Rush Revere.”

Now, I don’t want to give away the book. Remember, it’s a kids book, but you get the book and you read it with them or you read it to them or you have them read it. It’s for everybody. I don’t want to give an age-group here because I don’t want to exclude anybody, ’cause the book is for everybody, but it’s written for young people, and it’s written honestly, and it does not have an agenda. It’s just the truthful history of the Pilgrims, who they were, where they came from, why they came here, what happened when they got here. The true story of Thanksgiving. There’s no politics in this. Ages 10 to 13, something like that, is the age group it’s written for, but it’s for everybody.

The book is a way, folks, of teaching what isn’t being taught. People ask me all the time what they can do beyond voting to effect change in the country. And I ask myself that, too, what can I do besides the radio show? And when Kathryn had this idea, I mean, for 20 years people have been urging me to write a book. “Nah, I don’t want to.” And Vince, “You know, put together a compilation of your monologues.” “Nah, I don’t really want to.” When she mentioned this to me, that lit the fire. That was something I hadn’t done. That was an area that I hadn’t targeted. I talk about it all the time. I lament what’s going on in schools all the time. But this is my way of doing more than what I’m doing now. It is a way of teaching what isn’t being taught. This isn’t being taught.

We live in an amazing free country, founded by people with unwavering spirit and determination to triumph, regardless of the hardships and obstacles they faced. And they faced hardships and obstacles that we don’t even know. Yes, it’s Kindle. It’s an e-book. It’s Kindle. It’s iBooks, it’s hardcover, it’s audio books. It’s available for pre-order today. It actually comes out on October 29th. That’s when the book will be made available. So, yes, that means that the Los Angeles school system can order a copy of this book for the one million iPads they just purchased for students. Exactly right, Snerdley. There’s a million sales right there just in the LA unified school system, a million iPads. This is ideal for iPads. It’s ideal for the iPhone.

But our president, President Obama, recently said exceptional Americans are few and far between. Do you remember that? There was some discussion, as there often is, “No, Rush. That’s not what he really meant.” Well, maybe not, but he said it. And the fact is way too many people believe it. Way too many people believe that prosperity, success, or whatever is an exception now, that it really is impossible — and it’s not, folks.

And times are tough for a lot of people today, but they’re not tougher that they were for the people that founded this country. It’s an amazing, amazing story. It’s a miraculous story, the blessings of God and any number of other things that led to the founding of this country. But exceptional Americans are not few and far between. It’s quite the opposite. You start from the early days, people like William Bradford who was the grand pooh-bah of the Pilgrims on the Mayflower and who set up their first settlement.

This country is made up of exceptional people and stories of rags to riches. They made it with hard work, determination, a little luck, and God’s grace. So in Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, we have brought to life our loving character from Two If By Tea, Rush Revere. We’ve given him a horse. We’ve given him a talking horse! Liberty talks. Liberty has the ability to time travel. So in this book, Rush Revere and Liberty will go to the Mayflower and talk to the Pilgrims aboard the Mayflower as they’re sailing to what will become America.

Rush Revere is a substitute school teacher at a middle school anywhere in America, and he will take a couple of students with him to the first Thanksgiving, and they will learn all about it. Again it is a unique way of reaching the target audience here, which is America’s young people — who are, sadly, not being taught what is in this book. And what’s in this book is the historical record, accurate historical record of the Pilgrims. It’s who they were, why they existed, where they were, how they got here, what they did when they got here, and what they did and why it mattered and related to the founding of this country.

It’s fun, and when you establish the premise that your lead character can go anywhere in history with his talking horse… I mean, I don’t want to spoil it. (laughing) I’m so excited. Kathryn is gonna kill me, here, but… (sigh) Well, this may not be the only one. Let’s speak hypothetically. Let’s say, “If there’s another one…” What I really want to do is I want to have Rush Revere… Remember, now, the educational part. What we do here is we combine information, education, and entertainment, which makes the learning of history fun, which is the key for this audience.

So Rush Revere may someday time travel back and give King George a bunch of crap for the way he treated the early colonists and ask what the hell was he thinking. Remember the purpose of what’s being taught here. Let me give you an example: There is a professor at Michigan State University by the name of William Penn. A conservative student group recorded one of his lectures recently.

It was taped on August 29th, about six or seven days ago, in his classroom. It was released to the public earlier this week by Campus Reform. This is what kids are being told in classrooms all across the country…

PENN: If you go to the Republican convention in Florida, you see all of the old Republicans with the dead skin cells washing off them. They are cheap. They don’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could. They don’t want to pay for your tuition because who are you? … Republicans are not a majority in this country, anymore. They are a bunch of dead white people. Or dying white people.

RUSH: Are you able to understand that? All right. Here, let me translate it for you. Again, the professor, ironically, is named William Penn. Here’s what he said. He’s a Michigan State University professor, addressing a classroom full of kids. He said, “If you go to the Republican convention in Florida, you see all of the old Republicans with the dead skin cells washing off them. They are cheap.

“They don’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could. They don’t want to pay for your tuition because who are you? … Republicans are not a majority in this country, anymore. They are a bunch of dead white people. Or dying white people.” You may think this is extreme. It’s not. This is common. This is common on university campuses all across the country. “They don’t want to pay for your tuition”?

Look at what the assumption is, that we ought to be paying for college students’ tuition. And guess what? Obama wants to! Obama will pay for your tuition. Evil, villainous Republicans will not. “[A]ll of the old Republicans with the dead skin cells washing off them. They are cheap. They don’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could. They don’t want to pay for your tuition because who are you? … Republicans are not a majority in this country, anymore. They are a bunch of dead white people. Or dying white people.”

Now that you know what he says, listen to it again. Knowing what he says, you might be able to hear some of it.

RUSH: So, anyway, that’s what’s common, and that’s something that has made me mad for I can’t tell you how long, and it has frustrated me for I can’t tell you how long. I’ve heard horror stories that depict things just like that sound bite — and IÂ’m sure you have, too — and it really irritates me. Because this country is great, and the people who made this country possible were great, and the people who made this country great are role models.

They are worth being taught about. They are worth knowing. They are worth learning about. And it isn’t happening, and it isn’t happening properly. So I have succumbed to the public demand to do another book, and this is it. Rush Revere! As you see there, I’m holding it up again on the Dittocam: Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. It’s a time-travel adventure. Again it’s so much fun because the lead character is our tea icon, Rush Revere and his talking horse.

They can go anywhere they want. They can meet anybody they want. They can introduce you to anybody they want. There are no limits. It’s for your kids. It’s for your grandkids. Pre-orders are now up at Amazon, iBooks, hardcover, e-book, audio book, which is tremendous amount of fun, too. So I’ve been chomping at the bit to tell you this, and we’ve had to keep it a secret because the publisher didn’t want any news of it out. But, boy, it’s just been tough! (exhales) So I’m just so happy I’ve been able to tell you about it finally.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Everybody asks, “What’s the age-group?” It’s 10 to 13, but really, folks, it’s for everybody. It’s a book for parents to give and grandparents to give — to share, read together, learn together — ’cause it’s fun. It’s, sadly, unique.

But it’s just clean as it can be. So much fun! It’s fun to do. There’s no limit to the imagination. Kids can dream all they want. You can take ’em along on your own dream and bring them with you, and teach the substance at the same time. ‘Cause this book, it’s a way of teaching what isn’t being taught. This is something that’s bugged me, I can’t tell you. The title: Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.

The horse’s name is Liberty, the talking horse.

So it was fun.

I have the whole transcript here of this professor, William Penn. It’s worse than even the audio sound bite that I played for you.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I want to read to you the full transcript of what this Michigan State professor said. And, by the way, this guy teaches writing. It’s not a political science class, not a history class, not a current events anything class. This idiot is teaching writing. You know something else that’s always puzzled me? I don’t have kids. Knowing what I know today, I would not be obsessed with my kid going to college. Everybody’s parents want their kids to go to college, and I wonder, “How many of ’em know the garbage that they’re subjected to?” It’s not all garbage, particularly a specialty, medicine. But you get into law, or political science, or almost anything, and it’s nothing but the liberal agenda on steroids, taught by the furthest thing from teachers.

People are paying all this money to send their kids to college and I wonder how many of them actually know the filth and the corruption of the mind that’s taking place. Listen to this. The guy’s name is William Penn, and he teaches writing, creative writing, literary writing, what have you.

“If you go to the Republican convention in Florida, you see all those old people with all the dead skin cells washing off them. TheyÂ’re cheap. They donÂ’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could. They donÂ’t want to pay for your tuition because who are you? Well, to me, you’re somebody. Now, you can frown if you want. You look like you’re frowning at me. You frowning?” And some student says something you can’t hear. The professor said, “I am a college professor. If I find out you are a closest racist, I am coming after you. Okay. This country still is full of closet racists. What do you think if going on in South Carolina and North Carolina — voter suppression.”

No, it’s not! There is no voter suppression going on in South Carolina or North Carolina. What they’re doing in those two states is fixing cheaters. They’re preventing vote fraud. This Looney Tunes is simply upset about the photo ID. This guy is the last thing. He’s nowhere near an independent thinker. He’s just a sponge who soaks up all the liberal folderol and then repeats it with the authority that his job grants to him.

“This country still is full of closet racists. What do you think if going on in South Carolina and North Carolina — voter suppression. ItÂ’s about getting black people not to vote. Why? Because black people tend to vote Democratic. So why would Republicans want to do it? Because Republicans are not a majority in this country anymore. They are a bunch of dead white people or dying white people.

“If you’re a Republican, forgive me. If your parents are Republicans, forgive me. They wonÂ’t and I donÂ’t care. But, but, Ann Romney a first lady? And remember this, if youÂ’re just going to be a greedy bastard your whole life and just try to get things in this country, in order to be rich like Mitt Romney and hide all your income offshore in the Cayman Islands, you have to be, think about it, Mitt Romney.”

Mitt Romney earned everything he’s got. It’s Barack Obama who’s living the life of luxury he couldn’t provide for himself if he dreamed of it. And this guy sees nothing wrong with it.

“Now I want to see a hand. Anybody here want to be Mitt Romney? Him? I mean, I mean married to her? And I absolutely donÂ’t mean to offend you. Even if you are a Republican I donÂ’t mean to offend you in this class. Outside of class is a different matter.”

Anyway, this is what kids are being taught. It just infuriates me, and the libs have taken over education, so that’s why the book. That’s why the target audience, 10 to 13, but it’s for everybody.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This a really, really exciting day for me — and I promise you, I’m not gonna overdo this. I’m not gonna get to the point of irritating you like I know other people do. But this is the big day. I announced that I have written another book. I made the announcement at the beginning of the program today. For example, if you’re a welfare recipient just getting up, you’da missed it, and I want everybody to know this. And I promise you:

After this, just a little mention here or there, but I want to go through this again because it was fun, but it’s also important. Now, see, Snerdley says, “You need to keep mentioning it! People have been wanting this for 20 years.” I don’t want to exaggerate this, folks, but people have been asking me — I mean, even when I go do a personal appearance — “When are you gonna write another book?” My friends ask, “When are you gonna write another book?” Vince Flynn worked on me to write a book.

I mean, he was relentless in the last four years and came up with an idea that was a good idea but it was to simply publish monologues, which is a good idea and I’m probably gonna do that at some point, but it didn’t light my fire. I’ve learned that if I didn’t have passion for it, it isn’t gonna be any good. And to just to do it because others wanted it? That’s not good, either. Plus, you know, I’m really lucky. I’ve reached a place in life where I don’t have to do what I don’t want to do.

Then Kathryn, my wife, in response to all these people suggesting that I do another book, she said, “Well, you know, you’re really upset about what kids are learning, about America, American history. Why don’t you write a book for kids?” And that, that was intriguing. That’s something new. That would be a challenge. I can’t say “been there; done that” on something like that. It was right on the money. I mean, we’re all concerned about what’s being taught in school today, particularly about American history and how it’s being distorted.

So, anyway, what happened is — to give you the short version of this — I wrote a book bringing to life our iconic figure from Two If By Tea, Rush Revere. Rush Revere is the lead character, and he has a talking horse, and the horse has the ability to time travel, the ability take Rush Revere (and whoever he wants to take with him) to anywhere he wants to go in American history. Now, the horse’s name is Liberty. He can’t go to the future, but he can go anywhere in American history he wants, and the book is a way of teaching what isn’t being taught.

We live in an amazing free country, founded by people with unwavering spirit and determination to triumph regardless of the hardships and obstacles they faced — and they faced hardships and obstacles that people today cannot relate to. Really. And I’m not just saying that. That isn’t just lip service. The people who founded this country and lived back then, we don’t know hardship compared to them. I’m not trying to say that the things about our lives that are hard are not hard.

Don’t misunderstand. But we don’t have anything as tough as what they had to deal with, and Obama recently said that exceptional Americans are few and far between. He said that ordinary people doing extraordinary things, that’s not very common — and that couldn’t be more wrong. It’s quite the opposite. This country, precisely because of American exceptionalism, is the place in the world where ordinary people every day do extraordinary things.

For this not to be taught, for the founding of this country to be taught as something that’s immoral and unjust, has always burned me, literally made me mad. You know people are always asking themselves, “What can I do?” Like in your case, what can you do besides vote? People ask me all the time, “What can I do, Rush? What can I do?” I asked myself that, too. When I make speeches, whatever. So when I heard this idea, I said, “Gosh, this is it.”

Because the book is written for 10- to 13-year-olds, but I don’t really want that to be what’s taken away from it. This book is for everybody because this is a book for parents and grandparents to give to their kids and read with them, to them, or whatever. But it was fun. We have Rush Revere and a horse, Liberty. They go to the Mayflower. They can go to the original Thanksgiving. I don’t want to give the book away, but they can go anywhere they want, and they can bring to life the people of that era and make it real.

So that’s what this book is.

The book is Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims: Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans. It’s authored by me, and we’ve got all the links up at RushLimbaugh.com and our TwoIfByTea.com website. Today we announced pre-orders for the hardcover, the e-book, and the audio version which I just finished recording last week. I can’t wait for people to hear that. I mean, I can’t wait for people to read all of this, the e-book and the hardcover. I did the audio version on my first two books, read them and so forth.

This is telling a story. This was fun, and this audio book the way I did it? I’d never done this before, either. All of this has been brand-new for me, and so it was energizing. The objective here is to counter what is being mis-taught or what isn’t being learned at all. So today I announced it, and the pre-orders are up. It goes on sale on October 29th, but the preorders are there for people that want to order. It helps the retailers get an idea how many they’re gonna need.

Look, Snerdley says, “You should talk about it a lot.” Snerdley is saying, “There are 24-year-old girls afraid of you who don’t know that you started the conservative book craze.” See, well, that… (interruption) No, I know, and it’s true, but that’s the point. When people say, “Why don’t you do another book,” I say, “Been there; done that.” I did two of those conservative manifesto-type books, and everybody else has thrown in with that. Why do a third one? So this is something new.

It’s a different audience. By the way, if I can make this… Don’t misunderstand me. There’s not a political agenda. This is just the truth. This is just history. This is just what really happened, who the Pilgrims were, where they were, why they had to leave where they were, how they did it, what it was like on the Mayflower. We’ve got great graphics and illustrations of the Mayflower, and other aspects of this. For those of you in Rio Linda, there are pictures, illustrations in the book.

Twenty-four-year-old women who are afraid of me will be able to read this book to one of their kids someday, when they have them, without fear. They’ll be able to do it with great pride. It’s fun; it’s true. That’s the main thing. It is accurate, and it is a book that makes anybody reading it proud to be an American, proud to understand how this country came to be, what the role Pilgrims played in the founding of the country, and they got here hundreds of years before the country was founded.

Their impact is profound. The first Thanksgiving? The truth of that is in this book. Mouseketeers could read this and know what making history really is. There’s absolutely no question about it. So I would love to give you examples, but I don’t want to give the book away. It’s enough to tell you that when you create the vehicle of time travel — and, by the way, the horse? The horse’s name is Liberty. It’s a smart aleck. It was just fun, folks. It was just really fun.

When you have no limits because you can time travel and go anywhere, all you have to do is get the history right. That was the primary objective, and that’s what we did. Now, I also want to mention, there’s a little special that we are doing at Two If By Tea in honor of the Pilgrims and in honor of the book being announced today (Thursday), and that is that all tea is reduced in price to $16.20 for 12 bottles while supplies last. No promo code is needed. This is through 11:59 p.m Pacific tomorrow (Friday) night.

The Pilgrim Tea Deal is in honor of the book being announced, and it’s $16.20 for a case of 12 bottles. No promo code needed. Nothing. Just go there and get it, up until near midnight Pacific time tomorrow (Friday). So at RushLimbaugh.com and TwoIfByTea.com, we’ve got links to Amazon and iTunes for all three versions: The hardcover, the e-book, Kindle for Amazon, iBooks for iTunes, and I think we got the Barnes & Noble link up. So any option that you want is available, and I just… (interruption)

Snerdley is reacting negatively because I’m not gonna spend a whole lot of time talking about this ’cause I don’t want to irritate you. But it is exciting, and I’ve been chomping at the bit to tell you all about it, ’cause you know the “make a difference” thing? This is a way to get to people that don’t listen to this show, young people, and have them introduced to it. I mean, it’s just all upside. It’s total all upside. Then you have the added bonus that it’s the truth presented in a fun, interesting, intriguing way. It makes learning it fun, too.

Again the title: Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.

It has a great cover, obviously, and you can see it at RushLimbaugh.com or TwoIfByTea.com.

You can make pre-orders today. The book is actually delivered and made available on October 29th.
